I'm sure seeing lots of rides and videos from around Taylor Park area. Looks like all over 10k foot elevation too. :knary Probably need to acclimate for a couple days before riding much in that area.

You can tell from the names of the Tracks.

All the Rd (road) are Dark Green
All the Tr (trail) are Red
All the Tr with a "Q" are quad

Thanks for the file share. I am starting to collect as much data for Colorado as I am getting ready to retire and go back home. If you ever make it back to Colorado, let me know. The beer is on me.

Just got back from Taylor Park. Lots of snow in the passes and anything above 10,500 ft. (as expected) but still good times. Got a few new trails I recorded and tracked and a few updates to provide to my trails.

Can you just post gpx file here with "new trails"?

This may come across a little snide but I'm doing this first for myself as a hobby and to update my project as I go. If I can help others along the way I will. Most of the replies from you here are asking for gpx files or to make it easier for you to service your site. Maybe a little self-serving.

I've converted all my trails, trailhead markers and info to gpx already but the point of this thread was to have a full satellite imagery of the trails to give the advrider a real feeling of how these trails are connected and the terrain they cover instead of flat lines over a mvum.

DD-Thanks for all the time and effort to put this together. I am heading to Pitkin in a week and will be using these trails. If our paths ever cross, beer is on me!

Wow this is a really nice setup of a file when I am looking at in Google Earth. If i import this file "Talyor Park 2.0" will it be as organized in basecamp.

    Thanks Woodzrider.

Beefcake, There are a couple tools online that will convert the KML file to GPX. There's a few YouTube videos that explain it pretty well too. You can take the folder of a track and export it as a KML and open base camp and import it but for some reasons when you try to do the whole thing basecamp doesn't handle the import of the file.

I do have two web sites: http://www.dualsportwest.com/ and http://www.mex2can.com/ but neither of them have posted Tracks.

I do post tacks on a GPS public exchange web site http://www.gpsxchange.com/

I collect Tracks from random sources, edit/organize them, and then post them in an organized indenture so riders can find Tracks in an area they are interested in riding.

In the case of Colorado, I attempted to look at every MVUM and then name existing Tracks with the correct Trail or Road # and in the case where I didn't have a Track, I hand drew it as a place holder.

In other cases like the GWT or the PCQ, I personally went out and rode them and then posted my Tracks for free public use.

Bottom line, nothing self serving about what I do, just spend a lot of money for other peoples use and enjoyment. Like you just an expensive hobby.

Just wanted to say a huge thanks for putting this together. Used it a bunch of times over the last month. Some of the singletrack close to Aspen has some pretty technical sections!

Glad you found it useful. I'm still working on it just a little bit at a time. When it's ready I'll be sure to update the original post. I've got some video I'm editing from Star Trail, I should be posting it soon for those interested.

Yes sir, I enjoyed working on it. I've been several times, mostly to fish but in the last 10 years I've been lucky to ride the area. Bummed about my last visit and the amount of snow still on the trails, maybe next year. You're lucky if this place is in your back yard.

I'm not sure, you might try the Regional Forums. They may have what you're looking for, this post and section is more for mapping and navigation. Goodluck!

Hey there guys... I've heard through the grapevine that Cottonwood Pass will be closed in 2017 for road work. That would make getting to TP a little inconvenient. Might have to go in thru St. Elmo, or Gunnison...
