Hmmm, see I need to update my bike list. I knew I shouldn't have put that revolving door on my garage.

What shows now is my current stable. The KLR has replaced the VStrom 650. Why? Dunno. The 250L has replaced the XR650L...or was it an XL650R? Whatever. But the KLR will be around awhile, as will the 250X. The 250L, though...I think that door will revolve before long on that one.

Poking around out in the woods today (on FR341B), came upon a pretty large log (higher than the axle and ground clearance for sure). I rode over it a couple times "easy." As in just got front wheel over, slid across skid plate, stood on log and let rear ride up over. I figured what the hell, I'll give a more aggressive "leap" over the log a try, feet on the pegs, etc, a la Barry Morris tips. LMFAO. Oh hell no, that was some sad Gumby riding right there..

Took my guest Stephen around on Saturday. We hit some of the seasonally open roads near Citico Creek, known as Miller Ridge. We were completely successful at making a complete muck-up of FR-434 (the one behind the guardrail on the Cherohala). At one spot we stopped at, after Stephen slide backwards and fell over, I practically did the same thing, must have taken me 3 minutes to get going. Every attempt just had me going sideways, or stuck on a slipper rock, or falling over. Y'all were saved from an expletive filled video because I somehow managed to turn off the sound recording on my camera yesterday. Video didn't show anything good anyway. WTF sometimes..

Here's some of the horrors from FR-434

Here's part one from Miller Ridge area.. In the second half we switched bikes so I could ride his brand new super cool Beta 390 RR-S. We've had a few European guests show up with these, but this is the first new one I've seen in the States. Nice bike, I like it.

Nice, Bag...should have got you to guide us today. Did Witt road, and my bud who usually outrides me had two drops. One on a root before the stream, then one in the drink.
We then did trail 82 (both DL650's). 90% was uneventful, but the last mile was a bitch. Uphill, ledges, slick rocks and one million leaves. It was exhausting but a blast, and no don't want to do it again.

Thanks for the tour Kyle, I had a blast! Enjoyed my stay at the Farm House, the ride on your Husaberg and being able to spend a few days in the area.

I believe we passed each other somewhere on the trails today. Was a great day to be riding.

that would not be my bike of choice for doing single track. The eastern 1 mile is really no drama on a dirt bike, I'm surprised you had enough traction and ground clearance on those things.

That would be a job for the 250X. The KLR will see much more pavement than dirt.

It's commendable that you spend time hiking into some of these trails, chainsaw in hand, and clear some trees. But if you could start picking up rocks, too, it'd be most appreciated.

Well, if it's the only bike you have.....:nod, then ya gotta ride it right? Momentum can take care of ground clearance.....grid the skid plate across the obstacle. Traction on the leaves on that one small right hand climb that is rutted out was the biggest issue.....maybe rears with 7-8K on them had some influence...hmmmm hmmmm??? LOL.

Today we tried to find Trail 81....FAIL. Ended up popping out at Lake Ocoee....nice ride, all good. Rain and colder temps inbound...it's good to be home:thumb

...So where is Miller ridge, and can 500 lbs of chewed bubble gum handle it?

Was that you on Joe Brown Hwy??? You are the only other bike we saw off pavement in the two days we were there.
