I have been lurking on this site for a few years now. I am not a "forum junkie", so it is pretty new to me when it comes to posting and what not. I have been riding dual sports for almost 25 years now and appreciate the wealth of knowledge the Inmates share here. I am fixing up an Adventure 640, it runs but was abused pretty good by the last owner.
First question: Has anyone ever lost spokes on a 1999 KTM Adventure R?
I live in Alaska and enjoy the big tank on the bike, I am working on building aluminum boxes to protect the pitcock and tank, anyone have actual plans?
Here is a short video of the old KTM riding next to the pipeline in Alaska:

Do you have a place where people share gopro videos?
Thanks again for all the knowledge and great posts,
    From a long time "Lurker".
    Ralph.

    Hello,
Is there a reference anywhere where I can get an ideah of what parts are interchangable between the various KTM models?
    Thank you,
    Ralph.

Most online KTM stores supply the parts info:http://www.ktmpartfinder.com/
The best way is to study the different year 640 parts diagrams and compare the numbers...
The 640 has a lot of parts that interchange between the 10 + years of the series... Sprockets, trannys, crankshafts, bearings, brakes and a lot more... You can run the later hi flo head on your engine as well...
