Or how 300 perps spent a weekend riding old bikes and drinking beer (hic burp) in beautiful east Texas.

Every year the North Texas Norton Owners Association holds a rally at the beautiful Lake of The Pines, just outside of Jefferson. Its a great location, and a real good chance to escape the rat race and just chill.

Friday night was the 'catfish run'. A short ride through the twisties for a catfish supper. Trip (Steve) wanted to ride my Norton, so I rode his brand new Triumph 800 Tiger. The Norton ran beautifully all the way there, with zero issues. When we left the restaurant it was dark, so we swapped bikes knowing that my Norton had crap British Lucas lights.

As soon as I started out the lights went out, and then 10 minutes later the old girl conked out completely... :cry

I got a lift on a trailer back to camp, and would try and find what was wrong in the am.

Sooo... an ensemble of Monday morning quarter backs the next day carried out the full diagnosis.

    The verdict???

The idiot that was riding it had ran out of gas! :rofl

Saturday all the bikes were on on display, and what a great collection of old classics.
