Nashville sacks up and keeps their superstar. Good. Suck it Philly.
Offer sheets suck.

Getting closer! And Claude is sticking around for a few more years
Hmmm. Season? No season?
THERE HAS TO BE HOCKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't go through those DT's again.
I love NBC's ProHockeyTalk blog. So delightfully snarky, and the rubes posting comments are so tantalizingly stupid. Good times.
They'll sort it out before the regular season, I'm sure.
NHL cannot afford to alienate fans, they will play.
So, should we start to get pumped for the AHL season! Yay lockout. I just got my Monarchs season tickets squared away.
Hmmmm, I have been debating.
Premium seats are like 700. Gold is 600. I went with one premium and a youth. The youth was 400. I need a nice back up plan.

Six days until the owners lock out the players.
Last I heard they not only want the cap lowered but to roll back all existing contracts.. that's gotta be a tough pill for the guys that just signed UFA deals this summer for upwards of a decade and a hundred million dollars.
I wonder how long til one sues claiming the contract was not written in good faith since the owners had met and discussed strategy for the labor negotiations before the UFA period (no idea if that is true, but I wonder if it is and if one will go there).
They want to drop the cap from 70 mil to 58 mil. They also want to split the profits 50/50.
I am quite sure the players will not cave in. The owners will cave first.
Can the owners afford to cave? I know the Bruin's are in a much better position to do that than many franchises. That is going to be the problem.
The players contention will be that the league needs much more comprehensive revenue sharing.
The devils sure as shit can't. My guess, along with others, is that if there is a lock out, it will end the day after thanksgiving. The reason for this is it is the first NBC game. The game has the Rangers vs. Bruins. In order for the NHL to fulfill their 200 million dollar contract with NBC, they must air all the NBC games. The NHL does not want to piss off NBC.
That is my fear now. When they were in talks more regularly, I was hopeful. But when it slows towards d-day like this it usually means someone has bent as far as they feel they can.
technically, all the games I watched on Versus are NBC now too. While 200 Mil sounds like a lot, shared among all the clubs and the NHL big wigs, it is not all that much. Especially when they can't fill the seats.
True, but you have to imagine, NBC has a shit ton invested into the interest of the NHL. The last thing the NHL can afford right now is to piss off NBC. That could cause issues down the road.
Yep, cause everyone else knows there are not enough of us now as it is. They won't pay that to show the NHL. We have NESN so who cares around here. But other places it will be darkness. They just cannot afford to play this out this way. Cooler heads need to get in the room.
I would love to see the players make a 3 year agreement to take 45 percent if Bettman is either fired or agrees to resign as commissioner.
