    This will be the first offroad (light trail , no delusions here :D) bike since the Kawasaki KT250 I owned as a kid way back in 1977. Since then it's been all street. I'm excited! Waited way to long.

    Can anyone suggest Handguards?, is it one size fits all ?

    find a set where the guards have adjustment/pivot for different shape bars.
    you might like CR HI alum. bars too.

    I have a wr250r and it cruises down the highway at 72mph with no problems. Not that either bike is really for the highway, but I am wondering if the CRF is similar to the WRr in that regard.

    I just got back from lunch and a couple errands on the bike. I was on the surface streets so I didn't get much above 45. I never got to 5th or 6th today. It cruised easily at 45 in 4th. The tires were a bit slippery, but I attribute that to being new, and being knobbies. The bike was awkward to push around, but what bike isn't :wink: Once under way, it didn't feel heavy at all. I was cautious in the turns, because of the tires, but steering felt light. I got on the front brake kind of hard a couple times and the bike tracked straight and the handle felt firm. The seat will need work, but, I don't think you're supposed to sit much in the dirt.:D If I could remove an inch from the seat, I think it would be great. Speaking of the seat and height. I could sit comfortable on the balls of my feet at stops. I have a 30" inseam. As I mentioned, an inch off the seat would be great. The Kenda 761's I'm going to put on the bike Friday, might drop it a tiny amount too. The wide footpegs are great. I congratulate Honda for including something that everybody would be doing anyway. I will probably get an IMS folding shift lever at some point too. Overall, I'm pleased with the bike. I won't be able to get to the dirt for a couple weeks. I'm sure by then, other guys will have had their bike out and reported in. :clap

    Thanks for posting your first impressions. :nod If you can comfortably rest the balls of both feet on the ground, the saddle height is perfect for off road riding. If you desire an even lower saddle height, I recommend you carefully choose tires with a lower aspect ratio.

    Would someone please check the cables and wires on the bars to see if there is room for a riser, or high bar?

    Bar Risers@ Japako......Yes, Mine looks like there is plenty of slack in the cables/wires for a 1 maybe 2 in. Bar riser.
    (I had them on my TW200. Does make a difference.)
    Rode about 70 miles on mine this afternoon. About 64mph is what I saw once on the highway. Worked in some dirt badckroads, and crossed an empty field. Feels great so far. You know you're on a lighter bike in a crosswind though. Nothing like that flimsy,divining rod looking for water, front end of my old KLR. Seats a little hard, but it's new. Have an Alaskan Sheepskin for that. Did take off the left side panels to get to the battery and have a look around. Wired in a 12V. acc. socket, and GPS. Also a BMW plug for my vest. Pretty tidy under wraps.

    I didn't see the new photographs posted on your website until I refreshed the web page. :shog I also thought your bike had been shipped upside down, until I figured out the shop had cut the cardboard box at the bottom, and flipped it over when they removed it from the shipping crate. :lol3 I eagerly await further updates, Rick. :D

    I am now quite torn between this and the WeeBR. The CRF I test rode fit me like a tailor-made suit, but the fact that I can't get a CBR250R to try out, and make an informed decision is annoying the crap out of me,

    I can tell you that from my test ride. It does so effortlessly.
    I yanked it up to 120 Km/h (75 mph) indicated on a slighly uphill section of highway (I live in a mountainous region), and it still had a bit more steam in it. I didn't go full whack due to crosswinds, but I do not expect it to be much faster than that - which is fine by me.

    At a severe incline (say as severe as a freeway will go) it held up 100 km/h / 62mph in 5th, with no trouble whatsoever getting a bit more to pass some slower cars.

    6th gear is kind of an overdrive, but it pulls nicely all the way to 5th.

    For the record, 6ft1", 190 lbs.

    Congrats....I view your site often. If anyone out there knows where I can get an owners manual in English (PDF would be great) please advise.

    I purchased mine here in Thailand and the dealer cannot seem to fathom that request.

    Hello
    I have had mine in thailand for 3 months now top speed 5th gear 130 km/r gps 121 and 6th gear seen 140 on the clock which is around 130 gps
    Few things to watch for dropped mine on the radiator side this then moved the radiator to come in contact with the fan which then caused the rotating fan to put hole in radiator really do need a rad brace for these bikes but dont seem available yet
    Also i seemed to have tigtened the plastic lid on the expansion tank to much and it split the top of the lid off there seems to be no lip on the expansion tank so its a bit easy to over tighten itapart from them little problems love the bike 2500 km done so far
    Hopefully now the bike has made it to us and europe we should see more aftermarket parts come available.
    Oh and on you tube there is a thai guy getting his to 163 km/r says he has just changed sprokets id would say his speedo is now reading completely wrong and its no where near the indicated speedo reading
