Hey, no one would have known about my failure last year if I didn't tell any one afterwards. It didn't hold anyone up, even hit 50 on the highway!
It's pretty much the best system out there!

but on the bright side (pardon the pun) I just picked up one of these from my bike wholesaler http://www.niterider.com/pro-1800-led-race-2013/
After trying to ride 1/2 of timberline in the dark last yaer I figured I needed something to assist. :lol3

I'm figuring out a mount for my helmet for these --> http://www.upadowna.org/gear/review/light-and-motion-stella-600-dual-bike-light

they are not for sale anymore (maybe ebay), but I used them on the 24 hours of COS ride a couple years ago at the AFA. I think they will light up nicely. The battery can be duct taped to the back of my helmet. Just cutting some old handlebars to mount them to the visor - or maybe a mount that hooks to a gopro stick-on mount.

So, how many miles did we do the first day last year?

Do you think 251 for Day 1 is too much?

Don't worry, less than 1/2 of that is true singletrack.

I found some in the bargain bin at Goodwill. They've got some holes in them, but I'm hoping they'll work out.

I was doing some final scouting this weekend, so I should have an answer for you by mid week.
If I were to guess at this point, I would say in the mid 80s.

OK, here is what I have for max distance as it is today....

The longest section between gas stops during the ride will be 78.7 miles.

On day 2 going into day 3, if you do not fill up at camp that night, it will be 102.5 miles between gas stops. :evil

    :dllama:dllama:dllama:dllama:dllama:dllama:dllama

    Other fun facts:
Day 1 = 244.3 miles. Easy AM, tough PM.
    Day 2 = 110.1 miles. A truly silly amount of singletrack good-ness.
Day 3 = 200.9 miles. Tough AM, easy PM.

    Total = 555.3 :clap

Is there space to set up my pop up-camper in your yard Thursday night? I'm having headlight/tail light problems. Are we really gonna be riding in the dark at all? At 50mph we'll be done by lunchtime.

Oh wait, at 10mph we'll be finishing just in time for day #2.
