    ok now i see, i had mine going under the bar through the bar clamps which didnt seem right. i will route it different as soon as i get my new bars delivered. thanks!

    with the 48mm forks mine cant go out side of the forks. At full lock to the left it pushed the cable and pulls the TB open just a hair. I cant seem to fix it.

    There should be a plastic clip that attaches the cable to the side of the handlebar, just below the crosspiece.

    I think the (piece of) fender is either from a KLR or YZf rear. I just bought an after market fender that looked wide, and with few cut outs.

    yea i actually tried to redo mine today and i think im going to leave it under the bar between the bar clamps. the throttle is smooth and snaps back nice the way it is.

    The previous owner of my 2007 Dakar had the suspension, front and back rebuilt by Sasquatch but the rear spring is still too soft to get proper sag.

    The guy was told that the Hyperco spring that was used was the stiffest available. I emailed Sasquatch but haven't had a resonse to my question as to what spring was used

    I found this chart for Hyperco springs but I don't know which one to order as I'm not sure of the shock body size or spring length.

    I'm 240 without gear.

    Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    There are a few options for protection. Can anyone tell me what is the best, ito. I like simple and clean. I've looked at the bmw bars but darn they are heavy. Thanks :clap

    I had Touratech's similar headlight on my 1100GS and boy did it suck. The light output was mediocre and after I upgraded to bulbs that were the same wattage but brighter the headlight reflectors melted because they were made of cheap chromed plastic instead of glass.

    The fairing is ok for buffeting, but if you are over 6' tall it might not offer any protection at all. I like the lights a lot, but the rubber boots on the back sides are starting to crack a little. Haven't looked into replacements yet. I might just coat them with some rtv.

    Hi guys,

    Just been scaling the web (chain gang, here, etc) for some sort of guide for replacing the seals on the brake master cylinder.. i was going to get someone to do it, but the local dealer wants $170ph labour fee.. i've got the parts. have the tools.. i have it apart but not quite sure about how to do it..

    The rebuild kit for my Dakar was only $11.00 from the dealer. Only 2 O rings and a seal, took about 15 min.

    That is really beautiful setup from Britania. It seems that you have a dual spark model, but do you know by any chance if the mounts work also on the single spark models? If not or you don't know, I'll just contact them myself but was curious.

    I just put the TT faring guards on last night (SS). Nice looking. I will admit of the last 3 TT items I installed, NONE fit right out of the box. QC is going down hill. This one just had buggered bolts, other ones (engine guard had to re drill holes, etc)

    I have the stock BMW one. It is heavy, you're right, and it only protects the engine. It's okay...it came on mine and since I don't ride off road or care about weight I won't change it.

    A friend runs the TT ones and likes them, but notes that the fairing crash bar is bolted only at the front. I have seen photos showing that if the bike drops hard enough the bar will bend enough that your fairing might get damaged anyway. He is satisfied with the lower engine bar.

    Wunderlich makes one which is not so pretty, but bolts securely and is wide enough that it will prevent damage also to the fairing if it falls. Problem from my perspective is that it isn't so cool looking...kind of looks like crash bars for a Harley.

    Finally, Holan makes a nice-looking bar that looks like the TT setup but has a back mount which makes it more rigid. You might want to check them out. I don't know anyone who uses their product.

    Kubiak, See the little connector thing on the handlebar for the throttle cable. My GS does not have that, I just cable tied it down lower. Just an fyi.
