I'm not sure what you mean. Can you clarify the difference between viewing and catching up on a thread?

Let's say you've checked the checkbox on page one of the Runnin' Home - Tierra Del Fuego thread and you've read all the subsequent pages. The DeCrufter should be working its magic on all of those following pages.

However, let's say you've also subscribed to the same thread, and you click on [IMG] to see the newest posts. The DeCrufter will not touch the first page because the query string will look something like this:

    Code:
    showthread.php?p=9518518#post9518518
Unfortunately, when you click for the next page (if there is one), the DeCrufter will fire off because the query string will be like this:

    Code:
    showthread.php?t=447101&page=4
The "t=" vs "p=" makes all the difference.

Sorry if this caused anyone's eyes to glaze over at the nitty-gritty details, but hey, it's my thread and I post what I want. :D

Ding, that's the issue. Yeah, I changed my threads to 100 posts/page once I started using your greasemonkey script. So it's unusual for me to change pages while catching up on a thread.

Ahh, I see what you're saying. Unfortunately, the solution's not trivial. It's on the radar, though.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

The Firefox version of this script has been updated to version 1.1, aka the "making Tedder happy" edition.

This new version adds filtering to "first new post" pages (i.e. the page you get after you click the [IMG] button next to a subscribed thread).

    To install the update...
    1. Go to Tools -> Greasemonkey -> Manage User Scripts...
    2. Select "ADV Ride Report De-crufter" from the list on the left, then click Uninstall.
    3. Then go here: ADV Ride Report De-crufter for Firefox and click on the Install Now link.

The little radio box is at the bottom of the page on my skin so I am sure a few folks might be confused when they are looking for the button :thumb

Hmm... I've never used anything but the default so I'll have to take a look at that. Thanks for the heads up.

Now that is very helpful. It looks like you're using the default skin ("cRAsH"?) Can you take some screenshots of the very top (header and thread title) and bottom of the page?

I tried flipping through the skin settings but couldn't get this issue to reproduce. I'm thinking there might be an option in settings that's triggering it.

Maybe. Do you grok javascript? :evil

If you're asking if I can port this script so it can be used in Opera, the answer is "I suppose, but don't expect it soon." Please don't be upset. I only use Firefox. ;) Of course, if a ton of Opera peeps speak up that they want this script, like the IE kids did, my priorities could change...

The Firefox version of this script has been updated to version 1.2, aka the "tbolt needs to test shit better" edition.

This update fixes a ridiculously stupid bug.

    To install the update...
    1. Go to Tools -> Greasemonkey -> Manage User Scripts...
    2. Select "ADV Ride Report De-crufter" from the list on the left, then click Uninstall.

And for FF users that don't rock greasemonkey, you can convert tbolt's handy dandy scripts into an extension of it's very own by going here:
    http://arantius.com/misc/greasemonkey/script-compiler
And pasting the code from tbolt's .js file into the box @ the bottom. Works great and you don't have to run greasemonkey.

Yup, I've been trying to get that to work for weeks but every time I hit the link, the site has been down. Seems to be working now, though.

    Thanks for the link.
