i just thought i would jump to the end to say i got a lot of catching up to do.
Hell of a weekend! I did 873 miles, Tyson had about the same I think. I've got about 40 minutes of GoPro footage to edit.
Oh yeah and Ezra B, hammock camping, naked creek bath, chainsawing by headlamp, extraordianary kindness from locals, "The Hilton" and Mitch. Yeah it's going to be a good report.
Petro! That is a clean '02! Looks brand new! Bet she sounds sweet too!
Why is the back wheel off the Cap?
Many of you I'm sure have been wondering what has been getting in the way of my riding and writing these past few months. Today, I am ready to make that information public.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Today I quit job and the career I have been doing since I started school seven years ago. I am opening my own business and our Grand Opening is scheduled for October 12, 2012.
My new life is called The Backcountry Pursuit. We are going to be the first outdoor adventure gear consignment shop in the Boise area. Think "used REI." We will fill a major void in our very active, and close knit outdoor community in Boise.
The Backcountry Pursuit will build its business by creating a close connection with the local community and give back though a donation program to benefit several local charities that promote outdoor exploration and healthy lifestyles.
I am excited to announce that in addition to the normal offerings of backpacks, skis, kayaks, and such, I will also be carrying adventure motorcycle gear. I hope this part of the business allows you to get rid of your old riding gear and get that Klim stuff you've been lusting after.
Come out and support us! Find us on Facebook by searching for "The Backcountry Pursuit". Our Grand Opening is scheduled for October12th.

If you do plan to do the website thing and want help, let me know.. it's what I do for a living. 16+ years' worth.

Super excited for the future Tyson
I think you should do an offshoot, Backcountry Adventures, and offer motorcycle guide and adventure services for the area.
Good luck, with the retail store.
I've totally thought about it. There's a really good chance I will expand to that in the future. One step at a time....
Awesome thread Tyson!
Big congrats on the new endeavour.
I've learned a lot from your rides.
I've been inspired by your adventures.
I'm pumped to get an XC hopefully soon I can strike a good deal with my dealer.
I hope I can find time & $$$ to go off on the adventure of a lifetime.
You got riding skills...I aspire to tame the Tiger as you have with Hobbes.
Thanks for sharing and letting us come along for the ride.
Those are some seriously kind and heart felt words.
I'll keep riding and writing when I have the chance. Might not be many miles left for me this year though. Once this thing gets up and going, I'm right back to riding!
Tyson, Best of luck with the Backcountry Pursuit! Keep riding and posting, as time permits.
Love the Logo!!! Get some reflective, flexible stickers made up, like ADV ones, so we can stick them all over our bikes, helmets, skis, boats, cars, rooms, bathrooms all over the world,...
