    Hi guy's ,
Here's the story. I need a RD04 frame for my project . Found the seller in Austria who's willing to ship it to the states, but the shipping cost is around 500 eur :eek1 !!! Any suggestions what shippers to use and how possibly to cut the costs of the shipping. Any suggestions , help:y0! or contacts would be greatly appreciated :thumb.

    What's your project?

The reason I ask is that there is not too much difference between the RD04 and the Transalp frame.

It seems like $500 would go a long way to weld whatever you need to the TA frame to build it into a RD04 frame....or am I missing something?

    Hi Ladder,
I'm just trying to finish my never ending project of building RD04 here state side. Modified Transalp frame it's what I have right now, but getting original Rd04 frame would be more authentic . Frame itself is not expensive , but the shipping ...
    Looking for suggestions.

    Gpmucci ,
Your Marathon is absolutely fabulous !!! :clap:clap:clap

I just checked my rim which in my basement and easy to get to. 32 spokes, DOT # 292 rim width is 2.75
The rim is the original of of a 92 RD04

All Africas and rear disk brake Transalps have 32 holes rims.
Transalps width is 2,5" and Africas 2,75".
You can fit the 2,75" on a Transalp.
    Transalp 700 has a 3.00" X 17" rim with 32 holes.

I figure I could make the Mexican border from here without
stopping for gas after looking at those tanks. :D What a beauty...
