Hello all, can anybody tell me if the central stands for RD04 and RD03 are the same?
I own a RD03 and I found a central stand of the RD04 with excellent price, I would like to know if I can mount it on my RD03. As I read in some forums, the frames must be the same so I hope it can be mounted but first, let the experts talk...
Advantages of the Dero was:
- More space for 2 persons
- Tubeless tires
- More power
Advantages of the AT:
- Lighter and far easyer to handle
- Better in city traffic
- Better fuel consumption, range and economy in general
- Easyer to service
- More adventurus... better on dirt roads
- Far more reliable (i hade issues with Varadero with the HISS and with cut off engine and,,, and....)
- Timeless, cool and practikal design!
The Dero is a streetbike with some offroad look, fine for long travels on highways.
The XRV is for me (almost) the ultimate allround bike.
The 850-900 XRV with +20hp, 6 gears and tubeless spoked tires would be the perfect Africa Twin for me...

On my second twin. I've ridden a couple of Deros and while the power is pretty much addictive, its a bigger pig than the twin. I love my twin and have made peace with the old engine design and lack of power on tar. Off the road shes plenty fast.
I just did a trip a week ago and managed 22.5km/l - 52mpg (I dont know how I did this!) Riding was pretty slow going 80-100km/h. So Interms of fuel consumption, the twin can be pretty light on fuel. The dero does about 25-30mpg.

Only one route around that track....but it's got a GREAT front straight.

Well, Ive ridden a lot last years in Europe with my wife and we have taken long travels on tarmac. The Varadero (with FI) was very comfortable for us, the power was enough all time all situation. The Dero is absolutely fit for me (67) with bar riser and higher seat. J
But nowdays I havent got enough time for long time travels (kids, work, etc.) therefore the Dero is unitilized. I ride a lot in the city and the Vara is a big pig in traffic. It is a heavy bike. Well, it is born to the long travels not to traffic jam. J
The AT is absolutely old school adventure bike and I like it. It is app. <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:smarttags" /><st1:metricconverter w:st="on" ProductID="40 kg">40 kg</st1:metricconverter> lighter than Dero and only 60 HP but I think it is better for city traffic and single riding. Well the center of the gravity is higher than her big brother. I have never ridden an AT just sitting on it. I would like to use it for city travels (not too much), and short trips (app. 80/20 % tarmac/rugged roads)

I like the Dero too. Reliable but boring. The AT is older, weaker but timless and reliable too.
