    You can compare the GSA to the GS.
    Click compare models then click on the left tab at the bottom, "Bike configurator".

    It looks like the GSA is not changed too much.
    Air/oil cooled for GSA, Air /liquid cooled for GS.

    Same single plate dry clutch for GSA, Wet clutch for GS, which looks like it's located in the front of the engine.
    Those are the two that stood out the most to me.

    This might change your mind. 150HP, 17" front and rear wheels, and plenty of electronic gadgetry like the GS.

    170 rear tyre, wet clutch, standard indicators, radiator.......Africa, here I come.....not. I can already hear the whine...My radiator hose is rubbing on my *.*gadget, now the *.* light is on and it won't start. :lol3

    I'm not feeling the love either. I'm willing to hold off final judgement until I see it in the metal... but the fanged beak is goofy, and I also hate the shiny radiator guards/features/whatever. Don't want to guess what the cost will be either. :eek1

    May have to take another look at that KTM... or Tenere. :cry Better yet, find a good deal on a current used one.

    When I bought my 95 R1100GS, one of my criteria was that it had to look at least as funky as my R100GSPD. It did, and I bought it. 70,000 trouble free miles, and it still runs as new, or slightly better for that matter. Since the 1200GSs lost weight , compared to my 1100, I suppose this slight weight gain will make it about the same weight as my 1100. And 45 more hp, so I guess it should perform a bit better. And it does look equally funky to my 1100, give or take a bit. So all I need is the $$$, and I reckon I should get one. Probably wait a year though, just in case there are any issues...wonder if they will make it in Dakar Yellow??

    I told my dealer as soon as the Adventure sets tyres on Swedish soil I want one, 18 months :cry
    As far as looks go...... OK by me and as previously stated, you don't take it home for the looks
    Beauty is a thing that passes quickly whereas a bad final drive will be in you mind for a long time:D
    Oh the joy tarting it up, lodas of new threads by people moaning about silly things.
    Now hear this: Don't buy one, get a SJMC (standard jap motorcycle) instead.
    Never any problemes so you can be out riding the whole time.

    I'm sure it's heavy but the muffler is the easiest thing to deal with, well maybe not here in CA. Thanks Arnie. Some of the other goofy stuff will require some real thought. I think the tank panel and the beak should have been connected. It looks odd that they aren't. Triumph did the same treatment on their radiator guard. They both look out of place, like an afterthought. I definitely like the lines of the 2012's better. The new one doesn't look as purposeful to me.
