Interesting, all demo bikes with spoke wheels and all static displays with cast. Looks best in white, IMHO.
Wondering if this is where Kevin Ash just died?
The blue one has cast wheels. US bikes have always had cast, with the spoked wheels being a $500 option. different countries may well have different spec sheets
Yes, I believe that is where Ash passed away.
Shawn Thomas from RawHyde Adventures was invited down there on assignment to test them out. So far, good things. Check his posts on RawHyde's Facebook page.
not the only thing wrong with this thread
Is sad. RIP.
Godspeed Kevin. Good thoughts to all your family and friends.
Hoping no one else injured.
Nobody likes to see a rider go down at any event.....this is posted on Kevin's site.....

Henrik Johansson Enjoy your adventure over there, Herbert! I was also on my way to Madagascar some years ago, not by bike, just out of curiousity...envy you!!! Let us know your impressions on the new GS when you return! Ride safely!

Werner Hollaender Cool, you're one of the first Herbert Schwarz! What do you think of the dynamic ESA? Does it make the bike better offroad?

Herbert Schwarz it is a big change and makes the bike beetr in offroad-conditions. The bike feels like 50 kilo less weight, even if the weight is the same as the old R1200GS

Henrik Johansson That's amazing! Can't wait to see what the Adventure-version will look and feel like, hope that you get a chance to review that one as well for us, Herbert I'm going to Stockholm this weekend for the motorcycle-exhibition, and David and the guys at
Ha ha..... While they were good looking bikes.... I can help agreeing with you.....
What a shock, something you'd never expect to happen. RIP Kevin.
True, but if this thread were in the correct forum, I might not have seen it.
in the correct forum there already is a thread with the same pics , it's a week old I think
No. The press release was supposed to be today, but was cancelled because of moto-journalist Kevin Ash's death at the event, today
I do not have the words to communicate my profound sense of loss, for a man I never knew.
I think all of us on this board are impacted in a really deep, solemn manner- I know that I am.
My heart goes out to the family and friends of Kevin.
The launch of a new bike that can seem so very important to us moto-heads seems quite trivial today after reading this development and certainly provides perspective to what really matters in life. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
Godspeed Mr. Ash
Tragic. Condolences to his family, and prayers for the late Kevin Ash.
