I was having problems with my '11 F650GS -- headshake on pavement with TKC-80s when bike loaded up, at 70mph and above. I upgraded the suspension with intiminator valves in the forks and a Ricor shock in the rear and that vastly improved the bike's handling all the way around. But I still thought the front wheel was too light and twitchy off pavement. Added a Scotts stabilizer recently and it did "transform" the bike. And lets the suspension shine. Riding off pavement now compared to before is positively like cheating (and I need all the help I can get).

I have an '09 R12GS that I dearly love and I have a 2013 R12GS on order. Given my recent experience with the Scotts on the F650GS, I'd like to add them to both the R12's too. But I did not think that was an option. I am encouraged to hear that Scotts may be getting ready to release their stabilzer and appropriate mounts for the R12 bikes.

I to have the GorillaZilla mount for my Scott's. I am amazed that BMW does not offer a damper and mount as an OEM accessory. They need to take a page from Ducati in this regard. If a steering damper works so well off road for a real dirt bike, what are they thinking in not offering one for a 500 to 600 lb dual sport?

Are we not a little surprised that they haven't included a steering damper for the new owners to correct the obvious head shake flaw that we are now convinced this new bike has?

:roflYou probably right !.. In fact the whole round the world is made in England studio with real GS but false landscape behind. The hardest part of it is the fake film production. As Photoshop is not enough powerful. It cost a fortune in animation studio contracting.

One of the ramps in my work building is about that steep.

BTW, I think the shadow in the photo in question is directly on the camera person. That is why you don't see it.

The bike/rider is just a bit blurred. Might have been nice to faster shutter speed with a flash, and then photoshop the rider/bike darker if you wanted.

I'm not convinced the new GS NEEDS a steering damper any more than any 550 lb dirt bike, which IMO is about every 550 lb dirt bike. :lol3 Which is why I for one am a bit mystified that BMW does not have an OEM option for a damper. Maybe on the new GSA.

Great- I need to preorder a side stand extender:evil. Actually I think I am enamored by this new GS, something i feel inside like I felt for my R80 and my R1150 that I haven't ever felt for the 1200's -'til now.

Just received an email from the dealer, the bikes are in the US and they should be receiving theirs in the next two to three weeks.

    EJ, check your email.

Unfortunately, for me this head shake thing is a dark cloud over it all. Until then, I was 100% on board with getting the new GS as soon as possible....now I'm not so sure.
