I do prefer the european system. Mine should be on the production line this week or next week. With all the farkles.

Good thing is that LC has the exhaust on the "proper" side (as 90% of bikes and unlike BMW), so it will be MUCH easier to find one.

That said, for once the Akra by BMW looks very good this time.

Is it just me or do these engine guards look like they'd have to come off to check the valves?

The front does not look right it looks heavy. What I really want is another HP2 but that will never happen now BMW have decided to became "Urban" in their bike designs.

I think I read that BMW consciously moved the optical weight forward, I like it, depends a bit on the camera perspective as well...

BMW rep at Charlotte IMS said that no Premium Plus would be available with the 4-5 bikes each dealership is getting for launch (which will probably be in dealerships next week). This is speculation but the reason may be due to the LED light still getting DOT approval back when the bikes were being assembled, which was several weeks ago.

Stopped by my dealer today to take care of some other business and they said the same thing. They said you can never know with BMW and a few might end up as the Premium Plus models but they wouldn't hold their breath. Told me that bikes would be in the buildable phase soon and would be built in March/April with a delivery in April/May.

That's probably because they have seen the behinds of the typical riders ... :lol3

Wow- Thanks Bazgab. Heard about the LED approval speculation. My dealer also reported the 4-5 bike expectation... Sounds like my dealerships GM might be banking on the "you never know with BMW" option as he's told me my farkle rich option I dropped a deposit on was due with the first delivery. Either that or he's just feeding my anticipation... either way, I think I'll invite him to my next poker game. (unless of course he proves to be correct next week).

Could it be that they're uploading a software update for the premium plus? I just don't understand why you wouldn't want to put a wide range, including a full option, of models on the floor.

My dealer is reporting the same thing...no premium plus and no spoked wheels in the initial batch.

For all the guys and girls that like to torture themselves while waiting for the delivery (I have this picture of waving nice, crispy bacon in front of a starving Ethiopian child :p ) few little updates:

I know I have nothing to complain about as mine is due in around 2 weeks, but the wait is getting tough now. Especially hearing about lots of people picking up their new bikes tomorrow and Saturday here in the UK.:cry:lol3

33 days here. Hmm.. I think I'll write myself a widget for the phone counting down the seconds :p

NLS, Np. I'll ask and make pictures. HD videos might be a problem, I don't have the equipment, but I might try to supply some decent quality potato recorder stuff ;)

Well you guys, at least yours is coming.
    Better than me. :)

I do remember the feeling though (both my BMW were bought new build to order - the only vehicles I ever bought new actually)... My current GS, back in 2007, I watched it a whole weekend in the shop's window, as it did arrive but paperwork wasn't finished yet. Since the (closed now) shop was like 500m from my home, I am not sure HOW many times I went there during that weekend.

Let's hope crisis "relaxes" a bit in the next 2 years and I MIGHT start thinking of replacing. In the meantime, I need to keep paying my mortgage, plus the HUGE taxes that are to pay for Merkel's next elections.

(always open to donations though :D seems some people don't know what to do with their money - well here I am :clap)

Thanks for the proposal. I have left development years ago and will need a strong refresh to go back to it (which btw I consider a shame, as in my 29 years in computing, I consider coding the ONLY REAL computing).
Plus is tough to leave this weather and family.
Now if the money is fantastic, I might just start re-teaching myself from as soon as this evening. :evil

Even if with your experience senior dev would be a bit of a step back, think around 80 000 - 90 000 eur at the beginning and towards 120 000 in the next few years after going into team/dep management ;)

Just think, good weather and no bike to ride on, or well... crappy weather + good economics that doesn't give a shit about EU hickups, and a bike that you can drive to good weather :D

Btw. You can probably find job as a consultant too, a lot of companies don't require norwegian, just english. LinkedIn or (nav.no and finn.no) + google translate are your friends.

Just PM me if You come to some conclusion or have some questions :)
