Why not get BMW own GPS that gets controlled from the handle bar?

I already have one that does all that I want or need. :deal

So it's hard to justify the cost when I'll need other things more. (Luggage, engine guards, tank bag, etc.)

Dealership tells me my bike will arrive in 2 weeks. I'll believe that when I see it. Been a long wait.

The one I test road the other day had a pigtail outlet hanging down behind the seat, looked like a connector for a heated jacket - but I forgot to ask.:huh

:nono Battery tender cables tend to be rated for a max of 2 amps... or less given that some tenders max out at about 3/4 of an amp. A Battery Tender Plus, for example, is rated for 12v at 1.25 amps. You do not want to pull 6-10 amps through such a cable unless you like melted plastic and the chance of fire under you ass.

Just saying that not all cables with terminals at one end and an SAE connector at the other with a fuse somewhere in line are equal. It may look like a battery tender cable, but it's not.

Just came back from the dealership. Still no boxes or engine bars, and still no info when they will be delivered. Got a free BMW roll bag though (they said that all that wait for the vario cases are entitled to a free roll bag or some other bag).

Did you order yours with the LED headlight? What was your configuration?

I put my deposit down in early December for a red one with LED and wire rims. I visited my dealer a few days ago and their system is showing that my bike is in a crate waiting to catch a boat out of Germany on 4/23. Arrival in NY is scheduled for 5/6. If all goes well through customs I may see it by the end of May. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would take this long.

Schedule here is a little different; ordered mine (LED etc) after the first of the year and scheduled arrival 5/6. I'm guessing a factor is dealer allocations. I was the first special order at my dealer, and even when I placed the order it was clear it was an April/May deliverable. He's had several standard configs come and go already.

My dealer offered me a gray (vs red) cast wheel (vs spoked) equivalent available now, but I'm holding out for spoked wheels on my order. Besides, snowing like crazy here this morning so no issues holding off a while longer.

Got a call from my dealer yesterday when I asked what the production status code was for my bike, as last I had heard it wasn't in production yet and I wasn't expecting delivery until mid-May. He told me that they got a surprise allocation of 3 bikes that were already built and I believe are in country already. I think two of the bikes are fully kitted out with the Premium Plus package (Dynamic + Comfort), wire wheels, and cruise control. One of these is white, so that is going to me, dealer gave me the VIN as well.

The bikes may arrive before the end of next week so I have to get moving on getting my finances and insurance in order before then. Deposit was placed in October immediately after the unveiling so it has been a long wait, especially as I am bikeless currently. Will be nice to enjoy the great spring weather we have been having recently before the heat really hits in a few weeks.

It looks like you've been able to mount the Adventure top case to the new LC...do you know if the current BMW Adventure cases will be able to port over from the 2010-2012 models?

Sorry if this has been discussed already....

My Battery Tender wire is 18AWG which is good for >10 amps. :deal

The Tenders certainly charges at a low amperage but they also appear to understand that we use those pigtails for higher amp stuff.
