hhahaha, I read this guys build thread (in google translated norwegian), he got it all together, got it running, and on his first serious full throttle run, had hot oil spray all over the manifold and catch on fire, scorched the engine compartment up, so he sold it and started on a different project.

this was his exhaust manifold he'd built.

Ah, the simplicity of that crankcase ventilation system.

My son and I just r&r'd the pcv/flame trap system on his '88 244. We had a good time working on it together, but let's just say it was a slight pita. We picked it up for his first car and he's learning basic car maintenance and repair on the quirky old beast.

Next job is to replace the MAF. Still getting over the sticker shock on that one. :eek1

I do enjoy the car though. First experience with Volvo.

That's only a few teeth each for the inlet cams, it doesn't need an extra roller? :eek1

It's not routed correctly, either. The top run should loop down under the water pump pulley, and the A/C compressor has no belt to it.

we have an 87 244, original owners (was my wife's car, many babysitters drove it, I drove it for awhile to fix it back up when I was between cars, then it was my son's first car, now its my daughters (18)).... has about 400,000 miles on it. original MAF, same version LH2.2 as yours. had to replace the main engine wiring harness this year but the car is in such good shape, it seemed like it was worth it.

You're not paying attention are you. There's a fucking rodent in the crank pulley. It's a doofus photo.
