In the middle of doing a service, needs a bit of TLC but the basics seem good. 10k on hte clock, no smoke or bad habits on start up ( the bike that is;not sure about the owner ) needs new chain & sprockets & new air filter. I'll give it a bath & post up this arvo

Was in the local dealers this week and it seems Yamaha Aus are doing ADR TTR 230s again! $6999 on road vs about 5g for the basic model.

My ttr has develloped an illness.
Cruising on a flat piece of road it runs fine - add a slight incline it will die in the arse and start to miss a bit - have to down change and bog its way up.
This has gradually gotten worse over the last couple of rides. What do you reckon.......
    crap in carby ?
    spark plug ?
    valve clearances ?
    low compression ?
    time to trade in ?

I willl check all these things this weekend but open to suggestions ...

For a heavy-ish, old school dirt bike they handle off road duties capably. I took my TTR250 to the local club's Come & Try Day and cut a few laps on the short enduro loop last Sunday. Even with worn tyres it did the job reasonably well.

Bit of work today, first ,I thought the O ring chain on a low powered 250 was a bit of over kill, so I have put a non O ring on plus I have gone back to a 14T front .The difference is incredible, the bike rolls along so much easier now, and I am fitting a chain oiler, so all good!

Had a squeak in the suspension, top shock bush, bit of a mission to get out!:D
    [IMG]
This is the offending bearing/bush, common problem:deal
    [IMG]
The inner sleeves are a knock in fit, bit tricky to get out, just cleaned and greased and refitted, after cranking up the spring pre load
    [IMG]
When you refit the top shock bolt, reverse the direction it was fitted, will save having to pull the battery and box out next time
    [IMG]
Also knocked up a axle spanner
    [IMG]
and found a good home for my trail stand
    [IMG]
Also mounted my $50 Aldi camera so I can compete with TerryK!!!:D
    [IMG]
I really really like this bike:clap:clap:clap
