I'm not really sure how to measure for lock to lock? The limiting factor on turning radius is the oil cooler. The lower triple hits the oil cooler before I get to the steering stops. I was going to try it first, then decide if I need to drop the cooler down a bit or fatten up the stops a little.

Can I advise against that? If you're going to actually ride any trails, there are low-speed circumstances where terrain could whip your bars and crunch your cooler, which would be a real pain in the ass.

Yeah, by try it out I mean go ride some easy gravel roads trying u-turns and turning around to see what needs to be done. One of two things will happen..move the cooler or limit the lock to lock.

    Thanks!! :beer

I've got another trip this weekend. Then a TW200 to put together..then I'll be back on the Bandit with a mid-July finished ready to ride goal.

Okay, I have to admit that when I first saw you throw that subframe on there, I about puked, and I couldn't figure out what you would do to save it. It's really starting to come together now though.

PLEASE DON'T LET THE PROJECT DIE, I WANNA SEE A VIDEO OF YOU RIDING THIS THING SOON!

Working on my own build project in another beast thread, which hasn't really gotten off the ground yet (literally). This stuff is interesting.

:lol3 larryboy just left on a ride. :ricky

When I was out there a few weeks ago, he was talking about the next phase. He's got some fab issues that he's working through, but he's not giving up. The beast will live :yikes :ricky :deal

As soon as ya finish the DirtBandit Rob, I've got an Xj650 shaftie that needs a little DS help. :deal

    Did you continue the build?

I'm still building it. Some a$$hole got us furlough days at work since I started this project and funds are limited since I've lost about 15% in pay.

I was going to lace new hoops to stock spokes, but they just looked too wimpy..I recently got some heavy duty stainless spokes and nips from Buchannan..top notch folks.

I laced up the rear wheel this morning. Got it really close right off the bat, no hop in it..just a little runout to chase down. I'd really like to try the Tubliss thing on this bike.

Thanks guys, graveyard was horrible..glad that's over.

I think I'll true the front wheel in the swingarm too. I might have to make some spacers or maybe just get it close and true it on the bike later.

I brought home a lift table last night!!!

Yeah, nice to meet you too!!

18" rear, I started spooning the rear tire on yesterday and forgot that it has double bead locks. I tried to squeeze it in there with the tire half on and got an anit-scratch rag stuck under the lock and gave up for the day. :ddog

I put the 21" front together the other day, it went really fast as all the spokes are the same length. I'll tru it up when it's bolted back up.
