A longish trip to begin now. From Fairbanks to the Outer Banks. Alaskans feel the urge to follow the migrating birds south when the leaves suddenly begin to turn, the dark nights reappear, the termination dust is evident and overnight temperatures start the perilous drop. This trip plan began a while back but took a serious step when my better half, Cee, decided a new bike was needed. Arrival Day - Getting to know you... And soon the new Moto Guzzi Norge was free of its confines, a happy girl! and like most new bikes, first order of business is to take it apart and add an electronic cruise control from MC Cruise in Australia, a seat heater from Sargeant, a better windshield from CalSci, dual permanent-mount Gerbing controllers, fuse block from Eastern Beaver and lots of wire. So a new bike demands a trip but first I must do some farkling on my '07 BMW K1200GT. Updated cam chain tensioner Cam chain jump guard; many GT owners wish this had come with the bike... It also gets the Eastern Beaver fuse block. Its an excellent unit. and new front tire Finally both bikes are ready and waiting But first we take a side trip to Anchorage to visit our son, his beautiful wife and their two very active grandsons. Next up is a quick trip to my brother and his wife's island lake cabin via a quick boat ride and I do mean quick. I have been in this boat at even higher speeds. the business end the total package for you boat lovers, a restored mid 70's Jolly Roger my brother makes some terrific deep fried halibut and then it was back home to repack for the next journey Denali appears On the eve of our departure, the local Airheads chapter have a meeting a great group of people and now its Tuesday morning the 6th of Sep and time to ride away. Of course we wake to rain for our ride to Beaver Creek Yukon. Maybe it'll get better? we'll post tonight and see how it went. TIME TO RIDE! YEAH!
