I did this ride on my DR650 IN 2014 and it was amazing about 120 miles a day, so many riders. I'm looking forward to it this year as I'll be getting a new motorcycle this year

I would ride either one. It would mostly depend on what my friends were riding. Exc if you want to ride the "hero" sections.

Then you all probably will not want to ride the hero sections if past routes are any indication of the technical difficulty. Look at the photos on old threads of the past BBA rides and you will see that some of those sections, IMO are much more suited for enduro-type bikes.

Some parts can be challenging on the bigger bikes but V Stroms and 2up approved :)

That year there was 2-1/2 inches of rain the night before Day-1 hoping for drier conditions this time.

    like the green foliage.

That's an awful long street ride for any first time. Truck up with all the gear you'd use when camping from your bike and make do with that. Remember, you also have to get home. That could really turn someone off IMO. Kind of like jumping into a marathon as a first time running.

Wouldn't be her first ride just first time camping and riding. But you're right we'll take the truck.

Interested. Been a few years since I've ridden in New England. That'd be a fun ride to/from Pittsburgh. Hmmm....
