    The Berkshire Triple
Trail Ride, Dual Sport and Adventure Ride

Come ride the Berkshire’s! Three route sheets to choose from:

Trail Ride: For enduro bikes and trail worthy dual sports. Knobby tires are a must. This route will be mostly on single track trails and rugged woods roads. Bypasses may be used for the hardest sections.

Dual Sport: Route will consist of more dirt roads and rough woods roads. Dual Sport riders will have the choice to jump into the Trail Ride route sheet at times as a hero section. Knobby tires still recommended.

Adventure Ride: A classic big bike friendly tour of scenic paved and dirt roads in SW New England. A route sheet holder highly recommended as this ride will not be arrowed. The route is easy to follow using just a route sheet.

Date: September 15, 2013. Start time 9am. Mandatory riders meeting 8:30am. Last rider out 9:30am.

    Start Location:
1043 Burt Hill Road, Tolland, MA 01034. (Follow the arrows from Route 57, Tolland MA)

    Sign-up: Sunday 7-9am.
    Pre-Entry: $35 | Post Entry: $40 | http://mudslinger.org/PDFs/2013berkshiretripleRegistration Form .pdf
Mail Pre-Entry to: Berkshire Trail Riders, PO Box 601, Winsted CT 06098

Requirements: NETRA or AMA membership suggested but not required. Route-sheet holder suggested. Motorcycle drivers license, valid license plate mounted on fender, vehicle registration, proof of insurance, working headlight and taillight. Spark arrestor/muffler 96DB MAX! We will be running a strict sound test on all bikes.

Parking: There will be a $5 per vehicle parking donation to benefit the land owner

Camping: Primitive camping at start. $20 donation per site to benefit land owner. No dogs or open fires.

Gas Stop: There will be gas available on the route. Two strokes bring oil.

Sadly I'll be in Colorado and Moab for this. Last year I did the dual sport on the SE. Very fun. Highly recommended you go and see what BTR can put together. No matter which route you choose you'll have a blast.

I have something really spectacular planned for the adv ride plus I have something that will add a little competitve flare to it if you choose to do it.

I did the Dual sport loop with hero sections last year.
Was the ride of the year for me!
If anyone is thinking about doing this ride, STOP thinking and DO IT!

    HoodZ,

Did you do this ride on your DRZ? Will it be OK for bigger 650 bikes? What was the difficulty rating? Any fotos or videos of the dual sport ride??

The dualsport route is do-able on a 650 for an experienced rider. That is the target max size, but a very good rider will be able to make it on something bigger. Ground clearance may be a factor. I'm going to layout the route on my DR650 and adjust accordingly.

The Adventure route is for less experienced riders or those with bigger bikes who don't want single track trail or rugged jeep roads.

The trail ride is for street legal enduro bikes. it will be tougher than the dualsport route. It is being laid out to roughly parallel the dualsport route and some "hero" sections on the dualsport route are actually sections of the trailride.

Thanks for answering that question Rusty.
About sign up, are you guys doing the online sign up like the big Berk ride?

Also, I skipped the first hero section last year (needed to warm the back up) so I missed the plane. Maybe this year?
