Ton of money in this ride.
I ordered a rear chain guard from partzilla it took 7 days to reach me, not too bad.
That's not so bad. I've been reluctant to order from them lately although they tend to be the cheapest...just takes too long for shipping. Last order it took 2.5 weeks to arrive.
i would like to drop the front primary gear down one tooth does any body know where i can order one.
How hard is it to replace the gear in the kickstart?
I just replaced mine, wasn't too bad, make sure to pay attention to how the spring is in place when you go to reinstall it.
Drain oil, Take all of the screws out of the case, remove the kick starter and compression cable and rear brake lever made it easier to turn the jack shaft adjusting nut to line up flat spot to the case.
Thanks to DMO for the wheel adapter and to BWSWAMPER for the help / recommendation on using the ams slingshots. I love the ride. It like riding a diff bike. Handles and hooks up nicley.
Took my bw200 out the building after 12 years threw a new carb on it and it's running great. Does anyone have a Suggestion or know what kinda oil to put in this thing can't seem to find any info
10w40 motorcycle oil. I use Yamalube but pick your poison. Just don't go with synthetics unless the engine has been using it all it's life.
Thanks. . Any idea about how much it will hold so I know how much to buy
I also use Yamalube. 10W40. I tried synthetic
oil, but my bike would smoke a lot. Went back to Yamalube and all is well.
I'm gonna try Yamalube 20w50 this summer.
Hello All I have a 1985 BW 200 with a broken clutch cover. The keeper came off and kicking it over broke the case where the kick starter goes through. Could anyone give me a heads up on where to find a right side cover. Thanks
Bought a BW80 two weeks ago and a BW350 two days ago
The 80 needs quite a bit more work than the 350. Started taking the Carb of the 350 and broke the intake boot
It can be fixed...we have the technology!!!
Thanks for the link. My 80 sounds bad when you just kick it over , like a grinding kinda noise. The PO said he has been riding it like that for years :huh

So my dad gave me his BW after we discovered the engine was siezed. I have a lot of memories with the bike as we used it hunting all the time growing up; one of the more memorable being my dad packing out an entire cow elk in a single load... So I have thrown around the idea of doing kind of a resto-mod on the cheap. From what I understand a TTR225 powerplant is a direct swap and I can get a used running one on eBay for around $500. Will the original carburetor and electrical work on this swap? What other parts would I need? Your help is appreciated!
