I should clarify don't ride it around if the fuel is still draining out..
I havent posted in some time and glad to see the thread still going with what seems to be no more Alaskan Mullitia participation- I miss those guy's...good people.
I have 2 and 1/2 1985 BW -200's and it has become time to let them go with much regret. I live in the Seattle area and due to health issues (back) cant really say I can get out and ride like I would want to anymore and can't kid myself things will change. I love these old bikes and all the things that make them special. I have A roller that would make a build from scratch for someone and a nice 200 that is ALL orig.still has orig tires-chains-sprockets and the paint on the motor cases has no wear, it would make a great restoration or rider with a few new components, the front fender is cracked but replacements are at Meier Plastics. I bought two from a rancher in Southern Oregon 5 years ago and he only used them for elk hunting once a year until quads came out. The one I hate the most to let go is plated and I just put collector plates on this spring so it will never need licensing fees again and could be transfered to another state and get away with it. It has horn and blinkers, stop light and harness with separate battery pack on a tusk harness from Rocky Mountain Atv. I was pulled over by a local police officer the other week just running to the store on it and was just waiting to see what he was going to hassle me over and he wanted to talk BW's !! he gave me his card and asked me to call him if sellng it ! Anyway's..I had been lurking then on here for some time and want to give head's -up to the real BW lovers out there that might be looking to add to their stable..i'll post a couple pics..any of my old posts will show them some also..
I've used them for my XT600 with no issues.
Some progress pics:
the fun stuff under the primary drive chain cover
new chains and new tires
Now I need to do some power washing...
Also, I could use your guys' help. I found this spring on the garage floor close to the bike. I can't tell if it's something that fell off the BW. Can anyone ID this? Thank you.
Yep finally it is all done. MOT & IMPORT check passed, licensed and RTR. I just need some advice for basic carb adlustment, please.
Been getting in some good riding on my two Big Wheels lately, here's my 350 in its natural habitat
Hey just starting a restore on my 2nd and 3rd bw200
Looking for some plastics and cosmetic parts !!!!!! Any help is appreciated thank you !!!!!!!
freedom cycle in NH has it i think.
Getting close to letting my mint BW350 go.it's about as close to perfect as you will find.... it
also has new tires, the Dunlop 646 and 647..will post up some pics soon..
Must. See. Pics. Soon.
Here are the pics..one thing that is different,,I put on gold rims with new oem tires for a motorcycle show and
never took them off. so it has gold wheels front and rear. I base my price on what I have in it and the fact
that a new tw200 is over $5200 out the door...I want $5000 for it..milage guess is 300-400 miles. I have ridden it less than 40 miles in the 15 years I have owned it..We get it
out once or twice a year and ride it around the yard.
Oh and The rear rack is long gone. It was always in the way for me..
Very nice bike!
I hope you find a buyer who appreciates it.
(one who can afford it)
Nice BW350 Sixpepper!! Does anyone have any suggestions on some sort of bike shoe or wheel chock system that will accept the front tire of a Big Wheel? I have a bike shoe mounted in my trailer for a "normal" dirt bike, but it isn't wide enough for the front tire of a Big Wheel. By the way, that bike shoe works great for a dirt bike. Doesn't put any stress on the forks. Just use tie downs for supporting side by side sway. I suppose one could be cut and re-welded with added width for a Big Wheel. Just didn't want to go that far into it if I could buy one.
Get the ones for a fourwheeler, I have some and they work fine, check harbor freight and or northerntool...
Nice bw350! I think it should be worth the 5000$. Here in europe it would be already sold I think. A few years ago someone wanted to pay 8000€ for my 200es. But no, I don't sell it after 5 years of restoring..
I picked up a new ride for my stable today! It is a 1986 tr200 fatcat! I want her at auction, and I have to ride over to Wisconsin to pick her up one day this week!
Nice one to win, might find some useful info hear.
