I'm not sure, but I want one.
Interesting turn of events
so depray to husqvarna/husaberg under speedbrain. 2 manufacturers into 1 rider means 1/2 cost and still big bucks for depres. good way to market a new ktm brand.
From what I understand, I would be very surprised is Despres ended back up with any connections to Husky/Husa/KTM. In fact, I don't think we will see any rally effort from the Husky/Husaberg melding. This has been a very interesting game of musical chairs and oddly enough, I think Cyril may have danced his way out of a competitive seat.
Without the full factory backing from Japan, I don't see how a move to Yamaha can be viewed as anything else but a step backwards for him. Honda looks to be sewn up and less and less likely as I don't think they plan to make enough bikes available for another rider and I would highly doubt that Japan would release enough budget for Helder, Barreda, AND Despres.
And if your speculation, tips, and intuition is correct Where would all of this leave Quinn Cody ?
sure a lotta rumorz floatin' round these parts
Waiting to hear some good stuff, ayup
Daypray on a huskakatohonyamsuzakawazero with electrostatic front wheel drive?

I think he must be bringing back Aprilia just because those bikes are so damm sexy :)
then he can where his off the shoulder look and not look out of place
CD - do you have a rider list for Sardegna yet?
If HRC are presenting the Dakar team Thurs PM and the Sardegna prologue is Fri PM then it could be hectic if any of the "team" are entered?
Sundry items from the interweb:
Chilean environmentalists praise Ecuadors Dakar Rally rejection
"Ecuador becomes the only South American country to reject the race, raising questions about its environmental and archaeological impact.
. . .
"FUNAM president, Raúl Montenegro, denounced the negative impacts of the race and called the actions by Ecuador an important first step toward banning it from the continent.
Each new edition of the Dakar Rally brings flagrant violations of regulations set by the environmental impact assessment (EIA), Montenegro said."
Sean Penn urges no Dakar Rally in Bolivia until US man freed
"Actor and humanitarian Sean Penn called Monday for the Dakar Rally to cancel its debut run in Bolivia unless an ailing American businessman being held under house arrest there is released.
"Ostreicher 'is the victim of an elaborate, high-level government extortion ring that has fleeced approximately $27 million worth of assets from the rice operation that he had been managing,' said Chris Smith, the panel's chairman, said.
"The international pressure could very well be precisely what the Bolivian president needs to be able to finally expel the malignant cancer of corruption that is killing both the Bolivian justice system and the thousands of innocent people like Jacob Ostreicher."
Bolivia lashes out at Sean Penn for proposing boycott of Dakar Rally over detained American
"Bolivias culture minister calls it actor-activist Sean Penns 'worst performance' ever. He isnt talking about a movie.
"Minister Pablo Groux is slamming Penns proposal to a U.S. congressional subcommittee Monday that Bolivia be cut out of the Dakar motor sport rally unless it frees a U.S. citizen under house arrest two years after he was jailed without charge in a money-laundering probe."
Dakar Rally 2014: Registrations are open now, Bike-seletions will start.
"With the opening of registrations, the date of 15th May is a first step towards the rally, but almost a quarter of the applications will be rejected in the bike and quad categories in order to run a competition that is acceptably safe and hospitable.
"Almost a third of the riders, drivers and co-pilots on the Dakar 2013 represented the host continent."
maybe my dakar dreams maybe in vain
More news to come?
In desafio Ruta 40 (Dakar series in Argentina) provisional entry list (entries still open) "Chavo" Salvatierra appears as riding a Speedbrain bike.
Is Chavo changing teams or just a mistake on the lsit?
If chavo reads here, may be you can explain if there is some movement. (or doyle chating with Chavo?)
I read tweeter but do not write there.
Desafio entry list: http://www.desafioruta40.com.ar/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Listado-Inscriptos-DR402013.pdf
Nope, not a mistake!
So if I read all these posts correctly .....HRC and Speedbrain joining forces. Chavo gets a ride (awesome). Cyril has no ride announced yet but rumors of a Yamaha ride.
This would, for the first time in years, put three teams with a solid chance at a win. Good for the sport, good for the fans, good for the competitors...just good all around
The smart money is still on Coma but who knows. Without a team mate to strategize with at the front of the pack.....good chance ktm doesn't dominate this year
How many days left on the countdown ?
Cyril stays on 2 wheels - Tour de France hopeful with a new Redbull team -
I guess the cat is out of the bag with the entry list but yes., pending an announcement, Juan Carlos has one more race with Jolly, the Sardegna Rally Race next weekend and then he is utilizing Speedbrain's services for the Ruta 40.
Still waiting for the big news ???
226 days by my count :huh
And the Dakar becomes even more like F1, with manufacturers only suppling the engines (and a big logo for the side panels x) and the independent specialist manufacturers actually building the chassis/body...
If that is the case, then it really does make a mockery of the 'production' based machines?
On the flip-side of course, perhaps it will open the way up for a 'prototype' class after all...
There must have been some really strong words at the Honda Factory after this year's Dakar if they really are going to shelve their own rallye bike development?
I certainly can't imagine Honda selling their engines to a rival team that has an arguably a better chassis/rallye kit combo that is ultimately faster than the 2012/13 HRC team bikes were?!
