    Pepot,
    Come on stop teasing us and give us the whole story. So, how much was it? Did you have to create a bracket to mount it? It surely can't mount right up to where the MM cluster mounts, can it? Does it plug right into the MM harness? Did you have to do anything to the ECU on the bike so it would work? Lets have it all[IMG]

    Outstanding !!

    Throw in a HP2S engine and you're done. Sounds like a good project once the warranty on my bike expires.

    to Cyclop

    I asked the same yesterday...
    seems that the engines are not the same (length etc)

    Impossible to swap MM engine with HP2S engine :cry

    Perhaps a MM in 2010 with this new engine ??

    Hi RoyalMcNab,

    The tank pieces that you had enquired are homemade. Could not find anything on the market so I decided to make them myself.

    I was nudged by a car a couple of months back. The impact was enough to throw me off the bike. The bike slid a couple of meters and it sustained damages to the right cylinder cover, the right side of the tank and also the final drive housing. The damages to the tank and final drive housing were largely cosmetic in nature so I decided to do the repairs myself.

    Some scrapes to the tank. Plastic epoxy could not hold, peels right off.
    [IMG][IMG]

    Decided on the shape of the guard, made a cast and build it up with plastic steel epoxy, reinforced with steel mash. Repeat for left guard.

    [IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG]

    More epoxy and shaping done. Have to make the ends as pointy as possible as the final CF laminates will round them off.
    [IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG]

    Handed them to a shop who specialized in CF wrapping. Added 6 layers CF and Kevlar laminates. Could not tell from looking at the finished product, have to take their word for it.. :D
    [IMG][IMG]

    Stucked them to the tank with black silicon adhesive, the type used for securing automotive windscreen.

    [IMG][IMG]

    Will they work ? Don't wish to find out... :rofl

    hello
    do you have to take the seat off to fill up?
    do you have to stop riding when you pump the gas from the underseat tank to the main tank?
    what is the total mil with both tanks?

    thanks

    Cyclop,
    How sturdy is this setup? Can the rack be used as a passenger grab rail when the bag is off, or how about a back rest when its on?

    The Touratech bottom plate is mounted to the rear subframe at 4 points. The box feels planted.

    Have not tried leaning on it as I only ride one-up. As a grab rail, I do not think that it will be comfortable as it is narrow, hence requiring the passenger to reach back and squeeze his/her arms close.

    1) Yes, take off the seat ;
    2) No stop during pumping ;
    3) not yet tested. Should be 335 km (208 miles)

    @Pepot
    Can you tell me which color you used to paint the support of Xenon lamps ?

    Does somebody knows a similar (White, Grey, Indigo Blue)color which can be found in spray ?

    Thank in advance,

    Strange that Dave, I've never noticed that you used Dee Tee on here or UKGSer, always saw it as Dave T

    I'll edit the first page now :wink:

    I've e-mailed info@bmwspecial.com and have not had a response.

    I've attempted to contact Pepot for any kind of help, input, feedback and have not had a response. Has anyone bought or had any interest in obtaining one of these "Cuplino"s (top fairings/carbon windscreens) ???

    My phone number is in my signature if anyone can put me in touch with the right person.
