An adventure that unfolded with pieces by pieces being shared amongst many .........:D

All contributors are welcome to add their versions of the day :deal

We could sense the day was going to be interesting, when "The Cable Guy" arrived to join us on his first Adventure Ride. (He is honestly an inspirational, happy chap to have as a friend :thumb. ............ nevertheless the truth must be told. :D )

It was touch & go whether the bike, a VOR 530 Motocross Enduro would be ready in time.

Days before I took it for a spin myself, which I had to cut short as I could feel my fillings coming loose with the vibrations. :eek1

What an exciting pick up machine though, the ladies will be queuing to ride pillion for sure. :D

Even the short ride 4 km ride to the meeting point required a small adjustment.

The guys made him feel welcome. :lol3

Is the name on the truck any indication of the feeling amongst the pushers. I'm pissed off I couldn't make this ride looking forward to the full RR

It had been a long time since the last advertised "Adventure Ride" and riders were coming out of the woodwork to eat dust :wings :huh

It was the best organised ride I have been on and confidence in our ride organisers, Fipsy & DR Ozzy was high. :clap

Many thanks to all their helpers too who made it a fabulous ride. Ah yeah ! That's right I was one of those, Sweep group II
    cough ... cough ... splutter ... splutter ... cough ... cough :D

................................... that is until I discovered there were no bakeries for morning tea included in the itinery :becca
surely they must be joking I thought to myself :hmmmmm , but alas NO! :cry

..... to be continued when I have regained my composure :deal

Let me guess, you didn't read the itinerary until 10mins before we pulled out, right? :deal You know, the one that was on the web site for the last 2 weeks?......or were you too busy still playing with your crayons trying to draw maps? :D

If I had us stopping at bakeries all the way down, I would have saved us the trouble and organised a bus instead :evil

........now there's an idea for you........:hide

I am now composed enough to move on with the report. :2cry

The corner man system worked great and we covered the trails in no time ........... some I noticed covered the verge as well :D and it wasn't long before we reached the first regroup at Crafers.

While waiting at the servo, someone spied a fellow rider who will remain nameless, doing something he thought he could get away with, around the corner.

Photo deleted to protect the innocent :eek1

Is he actually drinking a Caffe Latte and eating a bakery bun trying to be inconspicuous, I thought to myself :hmmmmm

and then he was joined by another BMW rider :huh

It wasn't long before the others smelt a rat or so they thought and acted accordingly :rofl

We were soon joined by Mr Adventurer himself ..... "Homer Simpson"

He always likes a challenge :gdog

and we on our merry way again :ricky (don't ask how the "Sweep" took these photos :augie )

to regroup for lunch at the Meadows Bakery for a chin wagg :happay

    ooooooo!! that looks painful :huh

and I wasn't the only one to think that :lol3

On we went, riding some fantastic trails in the drying countryside

another unanswered question begs to be asked here :eek1

The Decepticon was doing a great job of leading, but was obviously trained by Fipsy, as we still hadn't passed any bakeries :cry

Mr Happy (aka the Cable Guy) hardly made a splash with his 50kg bike plus 50kg Tag Mahal luggage bag :huh

    So he tried again :lol3

It was on to one of the "infamous" hill climbs out of Ashbourne and after Pudanini's comments at Meadows that a girl could ride it easy, I had no choice to take up the challenge & succeed :clap

Was that what she was hand gesturing at the bakery :rofl

About this time the wheels started to fall off .......... well not literally :D

    First this .....

    and then that ...

As well as this ....... luckily "The Cable Guy" lived up to his name.

....... and his generosity of sharing came out ........ what a guy :thumb

    Beautiful undulating countryside welcomed us.

Until the curse of the tank bag struck again, driving the little Honda into the ground, "here Tony let me help you, it's not heavy ...... Huh? :huh it didn't start out this heavy" :lol3

Others begged to differ as they transferred it to the "mighty TDM" :evil

Now the tally on the TDM so far: his tent, the rear rack, the rear Targ Mahal luggage bag with an unknown quantity of stuff that had already fallen off the Vor. Luckily all the missing nuts & bolts weighing kilo's had steadily departed for heaven along the route.

Personally I couldn't really see the point of a tent considering the size of the Targ Mahal ? :lol3

As the afternoon disappeared with the setting sun, we finally arrived at our destination at the Cape Jervis Station to refresh before heading down the hill to the Hotel for dinner.

Someone had mentioned that it was only just over a kilometer to the hotel, so being conscious of Police presence this weekend, TonyRDR, Dorset, Mr Happy and myself decided to walk.

Safety first Mr Happy wanted to wear a light colored top as we had to walk down the main road, but we all said don't bother as we only had to make him laugh in the dark and drivers would see his teeth :lol3

On reflection I think it was the Bakery hater that told me that little furfy, as he & all the others rode past gesturing only one kilometer to go ..... or that was what is appeared :ken

Finally it was a sprint to the finish and a fabulous meal & drinks was had by all. :freaky

The Guys were impressed with my jogging back up the hill for the night or that's what it appeared, the truth be known I had tripped and was trying to recover in style :rilla
As we had returned with adequate provisions to complete the arduous journey, we were given expert advice on how best to pull your ring.

Due to TonyRDR's accident and lack of camping gear, as he falsely thought he wouldn't keep up on the baby Honda, I took pity on him and shared a room. Although I did feel guilty in the morning as I opened the curtains to see rain, as I sipped my nice hot coffee after my nice warm shower. :*sip* and no I won't be buying a BMW :lol3

The Next morning had everything including morning exercises to start the day :rofl

    But alas she wasn't cooperating

..... and then the jumper leads came out, thanks KIZZ which seemed appropriate seeing it was a Motocross bike :rofl

I was looking forward to leading the group home, No Dust :rayof but obviously nobody felt hungry and only a couple of oldies + one showing any interest.

After the light sprinkle overnight, the roads were clean, traction good and views fantastic and it wasn't long before we reached our destination.

It was obvious that Mr Happy was deflated with all his bikes troubles, as can be seen by the size comparison with his bike ........ we all felt for his struggles :cry

But then after getting a taste for all the delicacies behind the counter :raabia his bike wouldn't start again. :cry or was that actually planned. :killen

"Dad can you please bring a trailer, but not too soon, I have to get back inside and get a few telephone numbers first" :evil.

And then were three: ............... DROzzy, KIZZ and myself.

and finally Christmas drinks at the Meadows Hotel with $5 PINTS ON TAP.

My body felt fantastic and gave me enthusiasm for the future.

    I'm Baaack :wings

Thanks for the great company & support.

    Cya again soon. :thumb

PS Can someone help me find the aircleaner on the TDM :D

    Stuff sure gets uploaded quick!

Check out this video of the group really letting loose. It's hard to tell if this was before, during or after the Pub session. Paul is nowhere to be seen, so reckon he was behind the camera, MasterBrewer decides to finally join in and test those vertebrate out, Prasard demonstrates what his luggage will be doing the next day, Chris joins in but looks to have way too much gravel in his boot (chucked up from Group 1 we suspect), then looks like Ron n Tony doing happy dancing to see MB enjoying himself so much and the promise of Bakery stops the next day.....:clap

Just when you start to feel like you've missed out on something special, YouTube is there to share...

It's hard to mark bakeries on a GPS with crayon. It smudges too much. :evil

Was a great ride, I had a lot of fun and by the responses here I guess everyone did. Looking forward to the next monster ADV event.

Kudos to Fipsy for the effort he put in, GPX tracks, fuel stops, distances, ride leaders and sweeps, paperwork, dinner and accommodation. :clap

    Oh...and one bakery! :rofl
