(NF 6N07)...lots of "hero" sections and alternatives along the way...lots of black diamond stuff to come back to on the little bike :nod

At some point I went from 6N07 to 6N08? Not off course, since I don't really have one and I begin to descend

The protective gear on the bike did its job. Driving light mounting bracket bent/broken? The engine crash bar scratched, engine head protective scratched, pannier scratched, Left side of the tank is slightly scratched.

All in all the bike came out of this great. I was going ~20-25 when I went down. No complaints. And thanks for the offers.

    tires are coming...:super

On to Quarry Road from here and back up...little more wide open, hence the speed increase...still hyper watchful for the dirtbike or quad coming the other way or worse...jeep/truck :eek1

From Quarry...I meandered back up Bouquet Canyon to Elizabeth Lake and onto Pine Canyon road heading toward Gorman...in need of fuel and a snack...i had an idea...crazy, stupid perhaps, but I wanted to try...

Last time I was up on Mt. Pinos there was a dirt road, covered with ice and snow at the time, that ran from Mt. Pinos to Lockwood Valley...well considering the temps were high recently I wondered if I could get down it....

    Short answer; NO

Long answer: Had to try, well no...no I didn't...retrospect..kind of dumb to do, especially without a witness...it was steep, ice and snow covered...but I could see the dirt down the road teasing me...didn't stand a chance...front end washed out about 20 feet into it...was going to ride the dirt on the side, but the drop off made me nervous so I was going to high side of the road...

Good News: A-Spec crash bars worked brilliantly!! The handle bar didn't even touch the ground and no damage some sand paper and a rattle can can't fix.

Took two more drops and some huffing to Austin Powers her around on the small dirt patch...back up and down the mountain to Lockwood to 33 to home....

    Good day, missed ya Moe.ron

We all turn into our fathers over time don't we? He was obsessed with boats and not motorbikes, but it's all the same in the end.

Still funny to me that my Dad owned all those boats over the years and not many knew that he couldn't swim :lol3 What kind of maniac can't swim and enjoys taking boats out into the middle of very deep lakes :eek1:lol3

Wish he was still around to see me now and NO he didn't die of drowning:huh :cry :D

After a couple weeks to rest the ribs and hip, rattle can the crash bars, get the shifter sorted and buy some gear Moe.ron was ready to head out for some more adventures:super ..no dirt though :nono...Commander of Home Fleet's orders...that would be his wife...when ever I call lately I can hear her yelling about something in the background..something along the lines of "NO!! Tell him your not going!!" :eek1:lol3 She thinks we act like 12 year olds whenever we hang out...I say more like 15 year olds :D

Dropping down off East Camino to 154 Chumash Highway, down into the valley, the temps climbed to the 50s, greenest greens, lots of happy steaks in the pasture, wine country :freaky

Then we climb and it gets narrow..if East Camino Cielo is a one lane two way road then this is a sidewalk, at times I felt like I was riding on a multi-use trail :lol3

My lovely wife (The Commander that refers to us as 12 year olds!) generously contributed to the purchase of some proper tires, which is good because I am flat busted broke. Heidenau K60 Scouts are on the way. :D I need to come up with something special for her on Valentines Day.

I think she might be under the impression better tires may save my life, she could be right, definitely couldn't hurt! :lol3

I have some pics too, I will put them up tomorrow.
