Oh, I'm not afraid to start this one! :thumb

Do you own THE coolest bike to come out of the Mick Andrews/Yamaha partnership? Did you ever? Were you lucky enough to get you start in Trials on one? Have you or are you starting your kids on one? Do you and (let's pick a random number here...) 4 of your close buddies all share one doing big-boy obstacles on it for exhibition and fun at your local Trials events? Well then, post your pics here and brag about the toughest Trials bike ever here!!

I'll kick off the pic posting with some shots of my personal TY and some of our "Team Bike"......

Bunnyhopping over a crack in the rock. You fived it if there was a tire track in the dirt! :thumb

National 125 Expert competitor Nathan Hassler making us all look bad on our own bike. :bluduh

Nathan is a hot up-and-comer in the NATC, earning fresh sponsorship this year from GasGas USA, Lewisport, and O'Niell's Pub. He got his start not too many years ago on a ratted out TY80 that his dad once told me would often start and run backwards! Greatness often starts from humble beginnings. Look for Nathan this weekend in Tishamingo!

TY80's are just way too much fun. Dig 'em up, drag 'em out, and post 'em!

No need to get so grumpy!

Here's a few more of the TY80 abuse. I can't believe this thing is still running, but it seems to run better after each time they abuse it!! :deal

Now there is a kid out there that is suffering from not having that bike, ya know :rofl (much like the little 80 is under you all :lol3 )

I thought I knew where one of them bikes were Brewtus, but seems there is a kid in our neighborhood that is likely to become the new "operator"... If this doesn't pan out for them, Ill let you know.

About 2 generations of NMTA riders got their start on our very bike. It is now enjoying it's easy, golden years of retirement with the League. :lol3

Let me know about yours! :evil

I had one, probably the first one sold in Colorado, or at least in Denver, when i was 6... It was because my best friend/rival at the time (who's name escapes me at the moment) his dad bought him the Bultaco 50 that year... up to that point, we were both competing on XR-75's that we both had. what a year that was, back when you could ride novice on about anything... course we rode RMTA's Jr class.

While Im posting, Jebus, Im glad I dont "work" for you, lol! that is with your definitions of "Easy", retirement, where as that bike is really being truely brutalised by you big oafs!!! LOL.
    :thumb ...you know Im joking...

Hey Brewtus, There was an Oset on here, you guys could cover twinshock as well as "modern" if you all chipped in a few bucks each... (actually I tried to get the Oset bought, but it sold before "we" could get our sheet together around here, if you know what I mean...

The only pics I have from that area are of the scoreboard after the event! Too busy riding and scoring to get the camera out I guess. It's an amazing place to ride and is usually a great event if weather doesn't intervene. Brewtus will even be trialsmaster one day there this year! :deal Please tell him you're dubbing it the "Alian Trial"! I want to watch the sparks fly!! :lol3

Seriously Neil, come on down...it will be a fun event!! :thumb

Friday afternoon around four. I did a suspension mod to the bike yesterday, so we'll see if it works, or if it puts us on our heads....:scratch

Brewtus...talked to Pee Wee at Ginders about those TY80 fork replacements. He said they are YZ100 forks and clamps with stock wheels on them. They had to go with a longer Falcon rear shock on the rear to compensate for the longer forks. No more flex in the front forks he says. Hunter has outgrown the 80 and is now on a Majesty 175 that Bob built.

Way cool. Thanks, Buls. Now I have a shopping list...... :evil

You don't happen to know of a pic of that bike around, do you? It sounds pretty neat, and I would like to see it.

Gee, I hope we don't outgrow our TY........ :lol3

Never saw a good picture of it Brewtus but I have actually worked on it with Bob. Looks very cool with the good triple clamps and big shocks. Lots more ground clearance too. He also beefed up the gusseting around the rear shock mounts as you put a lot more stress there(YOU WOULD PUT ALOTTTT MORRE STRESSS there). Hunter weighs about what your legs do! A great project for next winter.....It's time to compete now. 2 trials in the next 2 weeks for me.
