    The sales team at Dobeck are pretty good about following up on orders, when they did I mentioned that I was very pleased with their product, the only thing I would like to see is a way to switch mappings on the fly. Below is the response I got back from them.

    Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check the clutch switch since I installed some adjustable Zeta 4 finger levers on the bike. They must not be activating the switch. I'll try and keep all the safety features in place for the wife's bike.

    I have a Suzuki DRZ400SM and I had to remove the kick stand switch early on.

    On occasion standing on the pegs the bike would cut out on me. I quickly discovered that my heel was pushing down on the kick stand and shutting down the engine. Some of the dirt riders would get the same effect over rough terrain with the kick stand flopping up and down (doesn't take much movement to activate or deactivate the switch).

    talked with our techs about your questions/concerns. We have come up with a couple of possible options for you. First, let’s address the desire for better fuel economy while maintaining performance. The EJK Gen 3 fuel controller that you have has what’s called a “stealth circuit” built into it. What this means is, if you disconnect the ground wire, you will be sending a stock ECU signal through the controller. What we think would work best for you would be to hook up a switch to your ground wire. This would allow you to switch the controller off while riding to the trail. When you get to the trail, flip the switch on and you will have all of the performance you want, back and in your control.

    As for the O2 plug, we have been doing plenty of R&D on these bikes since they have been selling like hot cakes. What we have noticed is that it doesn’t seem to affect the performance of the bike either way. We have had some customers say that by unplugging the O2 sensor, they have had better throttle response. This is all hearsay though. We don’t have any hard number to back this claim up. If it was my bike I would unhook the sensor. That is just my opinion though. Our techs tried running it with the O2 sensor plugged in and unplugged. The AFR stayed right where we set it with our controller both ways.

    I have not, there are a couple of pieces of kit I'm still trying to get sorted out before I can allocate funds to a switch. I've got Highway Dirtbikes hand guards, was thinking I would get one of their switched to mount on my top plate, but like I said, that's a ways down the road. Right now I'm just carrying extra gas and stopping more often.

    At this point I am getting around 19-20km's per litre- from where I live I can still do awesome rides without having to carry any extra fuel. I tweaked the EJK to 1.5/1.5/2.5 (instructions from EJK) and my fuel efficiency is not far off what it was without the EJK, but the power has certainly improved. I might pop off the seat and add a bit more fuel to the acceleration stage if I'm going to do some aggressive off road, but for now the bike is going fantastic. I still have the stock tires and had an amazing 4 hour ride along gravel roads leading to Mt. Karioi (NZ), it was raining and the roads were mainly greasy clay. No worries! I've done this ride on a TTR250, DR650 and a KLR650. The CRF250L (aka RECON 1) beats all of them for fun and control. Love it! Rear tire is just about gone....what to put on next.....

    This was taken on the day I got it. It's almost obscene how clean it is. It still REEKS of "new motorcycle" smell. It's a brand new 2014. And it's disgusting.

    Drove my new 2014 CRF250LE home two days ago from the dealership in Courtney. Have about 150 kms on it now. Real nice. It has stalled once and I have read on this forum that there has been some problems with this. Will have to see if this will be issue. I read somewhere on here that maybe the idle screw has to be adjusted higher?

    Mine would backfire and stall on almost every ride at first. Someone suggested the computer needed to "learn" or some such. Anyway, it doesn't do it any more now (dang, probably jinxed it now). I never fiddled with anything on it.

    might want to put a little rubber tape around the mounting points for that skid plate, mine has developed a noticeable buzz at certain RPM

    Hello yall. wanted to say thank you to every one in this forum all of your posts have been crucial to helping me decide to purchase my brand new 2014 crfl. i have in the last 2 weeks ridden 1500 miles on it and very much enjoying it. i live in central texas where the speed limit on the roads can get to 85 mph (i haven't had to ride that stretch yet) but my normal commute (60 mile R/T) is painless and comfy as this bike will do those speeds in most cases very comfortably. i am new to off road riding and am still building my confidence in rough terrain and sandy conditions. my previous bikes have been street bikes with the acceptation of a 73 KE175.

    now a couple of questions.

    UHas any one had any experience with the bikeracks brand I have tried to search the forum but have not been able to find any thing of significance. I have ordered one and will see how it works out.
    And I was thinking of replacing my tires with some Kendall brand tires that are rated 50/50. As I am quickly burning through the factory originals. Any suggestions? I am not a fan of the tires that look like street tires (only concerned with the off road traction there) again any suggestions are appreciated and thank again for all the helpful information.

    Oh one other question what happens if you do not adjust the valves?

    I opted to wear out the rear first, I hate taking off a good tire. I went with a D606, but I would suggest asking around your local area, as they have a better idea of what works on your terrain.

    On your valves, you can burn a valve as clearance goes away and the valve is help open longer, but usually the bike quits starting...or at least starting less easily due to loss of necessary starting compression.
