Our dog is only three years old but would take on most things ,big or small but on a ride today i think he met his match
When I pulled over on the side of the road to let the dog go for a run two horses came out of the bush to check us out .
The small one took a real dislike to my dog he bit him twice and then tried push him out of the sidecar with his nose:rofl .
I was laughing so much as i saw my dog had no idea what was going on or what to do .He just kept looking at me as if to say Why the long face. WTF is his problem ...:lol3.

As we were riding away for the next few miles he just kept looking back down the road and then looking at me as if to say can we go home now :lol3

Yep i think he met his match today

    Cheers Ian

Yep, I rode a Shetland pony at a summer camp about 50 years ago; I loved that little b*stard but he was mean to everybody and everything including me.

They are the terriers of the equine world.

My friends have a horse farm with 40 or so and they have a few that they need to keep the pet dogs away from because the horse would stomp or bite them to death if they had the chance. Apparently most horses get along with dogs but some violently detest them, maybe a throw back to being chased by packs of wolves.

My empathy to your pup. Great pix, thanks for sharing!

After a few people have said to me by email that it was cruel to let a horse bite my dog and it was not funny to let him do that .

I thought i should post that my dog was NOT hurt in any way. (only his pride ).

I would never intentionally let anything or anyone hurt my dog .

At first they were only checking each other out .
Then It was only a few nips and a bit of a push from the horse,It happened to quick for me to stop him .
I did not expect the aggression from the horse.
When i yelled at the horse to get away,he did. It only lasted 20 seconds or so.

I am Sorry if this post offended .

Maybe i should just remove this post .

Due to your public service announcement, I will make sure I am more careful with my dog near those damn beastly Shetlands...:deal

No offence taken here pops :thumb

... some people just have no life or life experience ... their problem.

They ( shetties ) are shitty little bludgers. Long , long ago in a territory far away ... twenty three horses , two donkeys , one buffalo and one shetland ... the shetland unloaded more riders than the rest combined :lol3

The shettie reminds me of our buffalo , always recognised what a camera was and would play to it.

Pops, keep on posting pics please, there's always someone who's going to get their frilly little knickers in a twist.

Just tell them to get off the computer and do some riding.

That pony deserves to go home missing part of his lip!

I'm assuming your dog lost his cajones somewhere along the way? :cry

We rescued one about 35 years ago from a farmers paddock he had just left it and it hair was all tangled and its hoofs had grown real long and curled up, He said just take it before i shoot it ,, My sister cleaned it up and we filed it hoofs down it looked real nice , we fattened it up ,, Then one day, months later i was feedin it from a bucket and it lifted it head and sunk its teeth into my chest and wouldnt let go , It was as mean as cats piss , Always wary of Shetland ponys
