Eurosport dropped Piaggio; that is Aprilia, Vespa and Moto-Guzzi.

The swingarm plugs are top notch - look good, keep trash out and "finish" that area of the bike.

I am living with the seat now; guess one can get accustomed to anything - besides that, it is my commuter, the very reason I purchased the bike. Oh, you did note the carbon tank panels; well, my powder coater has a process to where he floats pictures onto any surface - almost like wrapping. Was thinking of having him to the rest of the tupperware to match the tank panels. Do not know if I will proceed buy it is a thought.

Probably not a bad idea just in case I ever do lose one. Do you have another case Cover too? Probably more likely to crack that tipping the bike over.

need to order more black plastic material if you want that color for the case cover. I have enough left to make swingarm covers though

Case cover? Is that just a insert into the clutch side or a "protector"? Might be interested if you have a picture of it.

Interesting, seems that there are only three Dorso users posting in this forum? Dorso a dead issue?!?

I still lurk, but I sold my Dorso after an electrical issue that neither I nor my dealer could sort out popped up. The 900 has my interest as a backup commuter and weekend fun bike. The small tank on the 750 was brutal since I had to fill it every morning for my 75mi round-trip commute.

Here is a pic of the frame plug and side case cover. The ones I bought from Radical are black plastic instead of the red shown here, so they really just disappear on the bike.

A lot of advriders seem to have moved on from the Dorsoduro. It isn't really designed for off road, and isn't quite as fast as a 600 sportbike, and a little on the heavy side for track use. It is basically a jack of all trades, and master of none. Since I have room for only one bike (and one for my wife), the Dorsoduro turns out to be a perfect fit for me.

There is still a pretty good group of DD/Shiver owners posting over on Apriliaforum.com, though few of them go off road. These bikes seem to have a big following in the UK, and to a lesser degree Australia and New Zealand.

I was afraid that was the case, when I noticed all the Moto Guzzis dropped off their online inventory listings, a couple months back.

Rather sad to see Eurosport drop Moto-Guzzi; have been my MG dealer of choice for the last 30 years!

As to the Dorso, shame there is so little following for it. They are great commuters and once sorted, reliable rides. The Dorso is my "work" bike; the one I use commuting and will run the odo up on. The rest of the fleet are the mile munchers and fun bikes.

You may want to post that in the 1200 DD section of apriliaforum.com as well.

    This thread needs a bump.

I got to do a 450 mile, 6 hour round trip ride the other day for a site visit on a job. My company paid me 55 cents a mile. I'm up to 17,000 miles on this beast, and loved every one of them.

I finally got the track wheels and tires on the bike, with 15 miles on them this morning. The Rosso IIIs handle WAY different than the MT60s. The bike now steers itself into the corners, so much that I have to push back on the handlebars to keep from over doing it. Corner to corner transitions are so abrupt it feels a little like a high side, as if I am going to be bucked off. I'm sure quick steering will be good for track days, but I think I will reduce the air pressure up front to tone it down just a little.

Hi. I would be interested in a set ( case cover and frame plugs) in black for my DD1200. Can you do this? how do I get money to you? Thanks Tom

Hi. I went through a similar electrical problem with my 2011 DD1200. It ended up being a combo of the #2 fuse (red 7.5) which powers the dash, and the wires on the back of the relay beside this fuse box which is left front of the tank. Sanded/ splayed the fuse and pushed the wires back on tight to the relay and haven't had a problem since. The other common one is a pinched sidestand wire by the front sprocket cover.
regarding the fuel, I have found that once I adjusted the fatduc and and added a DNA filter, and realized that the fuel light comes on wayyyy too early, the bike is not too bad and generally goes 200+ km ( 125 miles) before topups. Cheers Tom

I still think Aprilia is missing the boat on this recent serge of interest in "scramblers". A Dorsoduro with 19/17" spoke wheels, dualsport tires, and a skid plate and they would have a very marketable scrambler that would likely steal many sales from Ducati and others.

I don't make the case cover anymore. I can send you a set of plugs but I cannot guarantee they will fit the 1200. Though it seems likely they would fit. $14 per set if you're still interested. I have black, blue, red, lime green, and white.
