That was one time. The other 6 or so times of it doing jack is what finally convinced me that I needed a better method. Irons + spare tube are a much better investment, or if you're really in like Flynn, a tubeliss + plug kit.

so i last rode the bike in november, tried starting and the battery is dead. charged the battery. it won't start. it'll wind over but won't "catch" however the battery is still weak..

i was thinkin of cleaning the Carb. i've never done this before (but i've lots of repairs on my truck, so i'm by no means "afraid". is there a web page with a how to guide for the 99' carb. if not any tips on what not to do.

my wife is pregnant and we have a little guy under 2, so i have to sell as no time to ride. any help appreciated.

well, finally got it started, changed the plug, probally didn't need too, but they're cheap. bump started it as clay once suggested in 3rd gear. way easier than 2nd like i was doin. battery is toast. stalled was able to start it agin with the e.start. but that was it. ran great though. my new battery will be in and charged on friday. yeaaa. then i'll see if any takers. i paid 1700, added some parts..oem muffler, shoes and airfilter.2100 into it. sellin for 1800.00 plus new battery. lots of offers for 15 and 1600 but i stuck on 1800 as thats the goin rate here for a 99'. i know, ridiculus. way over priced. i think 800-1000 is all they are worth but newfoundland is a island.

i have an alaska leather seat cover that helps quite a bit.

it's still a dual sport seat, but it's an improvement.

    Well someone has to.
    It's got a 6 speed box, 2 spark plugs and is a little quicker than a DR.:lobby

Hello Everyone, It's been a while, but i'm still lurking.

I've been searching the thread for an answer and haven't had any luck finding it-

Could someone please help me with the Timing and Torque specs on the bike (mainly top end).

I've managed to blow up my DR at about 30k- so new piston, rings, timing chain, guards, rocker arms, gaskets... while im at it: jet kit, air filter, breaks... She should be road worthy in a week, give or take the number of beers consumed each night :D

Please donate your knowledge; I've spent all my pocket change on parts and have nothing left over for the manual $$

    Thanks in advance.

i believe the code for a discount is "deadsheep" but they might have changed it by now.

i bought that cover for my f650, but it works better on the 200.

north central michigan, probably in some state land in the atlanta-lewiston area.

Hello all. Im the proud new owner of a dr200 that cost me a whole tank of gas to take it off someones hands. Cleaned the carb and it fired right up. It does need a new sprocket and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what size front and rear I needed for 50/50 on/off road riding. Was also wondering if anyone is running one of these air filters or know any pros or cons with them. thanks

Good grief. I logged about 110 miles yesterday on the stock seat and man, did my rear end ever hurt till the end. I don't have much padding on my butt, and as we all know, the stock seat doesn't provide much cushioning!

I guess it's time to start looking into seat covers... :D

Does anyone remember where to get that modified front fender? The shorter, more streamlined one? I get an awful lot of vibration and shaking from mine while riding at higher speeds and since I do mostly street riding, I'd like to get rid of the front fender I have now and get that sleeker looking one I know that I saw in this forum...

    EDIT***

Nevermind! Just ordered the front fender I was looking for!

Took two day-trips this weekend; Saturday ~100 miles and Sunday ~150. Still lovin' the little bike - but I can see the need for a rack & bags in the near future... ala the Superbug (TM) :pynd

:poser - someday, when mine grows up. :lol3

    it says thats for yamaha?

    are you sure it fits?

Also, let me know what you decide about your seat cover, and I will do the same, Im going for something very budget minded

Does anyone have any links to a good tank bag? Id like something to stick my cell phone in so I can listen to Pandora on a longer ride, last thing I need (or I THINK I need) is a sprocket for better road speed. I can comfortably go about 55-60mph, Id like to hike that up to about 65 without vibrating myself to bits, any suggestions?
