Great job on the DR and even better on yourself. Of course keep it up! You're in the groove now. Pretty sure slow and steady wins that race though.

Fantastic work! I had so much fun following this thread.

Yes I do think you should continue on with your goal. I'm sure you can get there within a few months time!!
Keep us updated with how you do!

Alrighty then, it's done. I am sorry but I didn't get it quite as low as you all wanted. 252 lbs oil and no gas. Pictures to follow. Also, I would be curious about what you think it's value would be as a runner. I have no idea how to value it. Legit numbers please. You won't hurt my feelings. I will be selling it on. A before as a reminder:

Used a race car scale. Supposedly VERY accurate. 116 front/136 rear

It has been fun following your project. One question though. Wouldn't you need a third scale, one under the kickstand, to get the total weight? I would assume that is non-negligible. I understand the concept that it would be weighted less the more upright the bike is, but it's still holding some weight.

My rule of thumb is no dr350 is worth over $2k anymore. But thats me. Really appreciated the build.

Great catch Ken, but I held it straight up for measurement, off the stand. On the stand it was 215. We put it down so I could move around it for pics. I think it' fairly accurate as it was 297 before, and I took off 46.25 lbs. There's a little error there but not much, and that error was probably on the weigh in because it was on the stand. Thanks for following

Me too. That sucker would be a screamer! And wouldn't it be a hoot to do it to a big bore? You're talking almost trials weight. Here's a thought Plugeye. Buy this from me and switch over all the titanium and lightened stuff to your S. Boom!!!! I'll make you a smoking deal.

Is the follow on project a DR650?

I was hoping that it would come out a little lighter too. Especially since to make it trail worthy (for me) I would be adding some more armor and farkles. Even so this has been a pretty amazing build to follow. Thank you for doing it.

Can you post up a few higher resolution pictures. Give us some glamour shots. I want to look at details.

As for the resale value, I can see someone paying upwards of $3500 for it, maybe even 4 if they knew what they were getting. My dr pricing goes like this. Any running DR $1K. S $1200 to 1500. SE 1500-2000, 98-99SE fetch the higher end and maybe even a little more than $2K. I have seen decked out ones go for $3+.

No, worse luck. The follow on project is a tribute to a 1930's era speedway bike with a supercharged Suzuki LS650 thumper. Chance for Rebuilder to show off some.

I miss the fun I had with this one. Another Rebuilder win

Give me an idea of details you want to see Mr. P. I certainly am no photographer but I will do my best to oblige.

Any or all of the above in full res (or jsut bigger). Or just a right /left in full res.
