    It's time to get back some of what I missed last year on the Trans America Trail in Nevada.

    Wanna go for a ride?

    :ricky

    Forget the things that you own

    [IMG]

    and, Travel almost anywhere you can go

    [IMG]

    Dance across the tree tips..set them ablaze

    [IMG]

    Soaking in their pleasant warm summer haze

    [IMG]

    and, Weeping on her streets and school city blocks

    [IMG]

    and, Finding streams on her while you're skipping rocks

    [IMG]

    and, Feeding on her touch as it will barely keep you alive

    [IMG]

    She said...

    Show me the world that's inside your head

    Show me the world that you see yourself

    [IMG]

    It can be so bold and so cavalier

    [IMG]

    To reach out to the fire her soul's sending here

    [IMG]

    It can be like death that blows like a breeze

    [IMG]

    Making all ones strength go weak at the knees

    [IMG]

    I hate to feel the shallow ground giving way

    [IMG]

    I'll never let myself fall this much astray

    [IMG]

    and, Feeding on her touch is all one does to survive

    [IMG]

    She said...

    Show me the world that's inside your head

    Show me the world that you see yourself

    [IMG]

    She said...

    Show me the world that's inside your head

    Tell me your secrets of life and death

    and, Your one regret

    [IMG]

    If...I'm ever alone

    Then...my heart will know

    It can call to yours

    and, You'll be at my side

    larryboy will be along shortly, Ladybug & $kywalker.

    LittleWan's going to be dreaming of Kevin Bacon all night, so larryboy should be able to write the first installment without being interrupted.

    Well, I decided to see how light I could go on this trip. The bike is packed except for my tool bag and fresh tires. I'm going to ride the loneliest highway to get out to the Utah border with Nevada and I'll need new tires by the time I make it there.

    <img src="http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a32/plunger-ears/XRR%20ABUSE/Nevada%20TAT/IMGP8012.jpg">

    It took me a bit to figure out how to carry the tires, but we're all ready to go now.

    I had the impression that hwy 50 would be straight and boring, but it was interesting with corners here and there.

    <img src="http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a32/plunger-ears/XRR%20ABUSE/Nevada%20TAT/IMGP8014.jpg">

    I took this picture for my dog as that's his name, the Louie part. :lol3

    Just to the west of Eureka, Nevada.

    <img src="http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a32/plunger-ears/XRR%20ABUSE/Nevada%20TAT/IMGP8016.jpg">

    I realized in Eureka that I had forgotten to bring a valve core tool to change my tires, so I cranked up the pace before all the shops closed in Ely. I found a tire shop winding down for the day and they gave me a core cap on an old valve stem, handy little tool for the kit.

    From Sacramento, CA to Sacramento Pass, over 500 miles for the day.

    I made it to Baker, Nevada near dark and went to T & D's for a small snack. I'm trying to costs down and go with a dinner salad and some onion rings, only meal of the day. I get to talking to Terry and he said that the bar area used to be a two bay repair shop that he converted, but he kept the compressor and I can use it to air up my tires!!

    <img src="http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a32/plunger-ears/XRR%20ABUSE/Nevada%20TAT/IMGP8021.jpg">

    It really sucked to change tires after a 500 mile day, but it had to be done. I went back in for some water and a beer. Terry and I traded some ideas, pretty soon we were having a great time talking. I asked what I owed, he said I became a friend an hour ago and friends don't pay. Pretty soon he was dragging out the top shelf tequila for a taste test. I really have no idea how late we talked, but Debbie was asleep in a chair when I left. :lol3

    They have a "No Camping" sign at the visitor center, but I'm just visting..so I slept on the sidewalk under the stars. Up early I found the restrooms unlocked and loaded up on water for the trail.

    Dude, HWY 50 is what got us interested in exploring in Nevada in the first place! We used to take 50 every spring to ride southern Utah (San Rafael Swell, Moab, etc.) for a few weeks but we kept looking up into the hills and stuff, wondering what the hell was out there. We finally decided to find out and we've since been spending a ton of time out there. We could probably spend the rest of our lives (probably not that many years to go, really :D ) exploring all Nevada has to offer and still never see it all.

    I better see some more photos before going to bed tonight!
