The one and only Mr. Rick Hatswell
Nope, not my brother. That's Rick from Canada.
Yup, that bit of snow gave us something to think about....fortunately the routes were snow-free!
That looks like some incredible riding. Thanks for posting the pictures.
A month has passed since I had the great pleasure of riding Scott Whitney's "Grand Rally".
It was a truly epic experience: The scenery was beyond description, the terrain and route some of the best riding I've ever done, the camaraderie of fellow riders fantastic, and the navigation very challenging (wtf does left from very faint road to very, very faint road mean?! I learned to love CAP headings. ; ).
I'm slowly crunching the videos, so watch this space!
One of the best things for me about the Grand Rally was the challenging HP (Hors Piste) navigation through truly unreal terrain.
By this point in the rally however, I had learned that Scott Whitney's roadbooks are never boring, and if I was in someplace amazing like in this video, I was likely on course.
This is an excerpt from day two of the Grand Rally. After hours of amazing mixed desert terrain, the route dropped down into a fantastic rocky sand wash...
How are those footprints crossing the wash about 14 seconds from the end? :
Cow tracks - It's cattle country.
Ah. Thanks. Must be thirsty cows
Please keep them videos coming.
It was pointed out to me that my video links got broken in the forum update; I've updated the links and added one more to show what great routes Hogwild builds. When the Organiser colours the entire section of a roadbook yellow as a caution, you know it's going to be a good time!
Except for that 1 rock I'd ride it on anybody else's GS
don't think you would make one HP dune stage on a GS...
Jason took his GS through the dunes last year, and made it to the finish. But that's Jason!
He is a bad ass... no I mean a BIG liter sized Gs ! Sure is a rad rally jacket Jase !
Stealing sweet photo for facebook self aggrandizement Thanks!@ Yeah Id be hard pressed to take an 1150 or anything like that through the dunes, for sure.. those things are nuts.
Bananaman would do it
