Not sure a thread like this exist already. A search in the scooter forum did not reveal much recently regarding MPG. Several topics in specific scooter threads but no generic thread you can post in.

Naturally I own scooters because I like the practicality and economy they achieve. Because of this I am pretty religious about tracking my fuel economy and I go to great strides in trying to stretch those gallons just a bit further. I am not so obsessive that I shut the motor down at traffic lights and ride slower then the posted speed limits but I try not to speed up to the next red light and when I can I tend to let it coast to a stop and not speed up then slam on the brakes. I also accelerate a tad slow when I can. On many scooters gunning it just waist fuel.

We also have many hills and I tend to think that hits your MPG a bit of coarse when you go down a hill you use very little gas so maybe it works out being the same. We do have a lot of traffic and traffic lights and I am sure that kills MPG averages. It takes a lot of energy (fuel) to get a scooter (or anything really) up to speed again.

Below is a list of scooters I own and the average fuel economy I achieve with them. I use Accu Fuel App on my IPhone to track gas mileage. I would like to do a little better but I think these are pretty good in the real world.

    05 Yamaha Majesty 400 = 60 MPG
    10 Honda SH150i = 86 MPG
    09 Aprilia SportCity 250 = 68 MPG
    04 Honda Silverwing 600 = 45 MPG
    10 Honda Elite 110 = 91 MPG
    11 Honda PCX 125 = 96 MPG
    01 Honda Reflex 250 = 69 MPG

    Not scooters but other motorcycles..

    06 Kawasaki Ninja 500 = 54 MPG
    05 Kawasaki KLR 650 = 52 MPG
    06 Kawasaki Concours 1000 = 41 MPG
    03 Suzuki SV1000S = 39 MPG
    03 Suzuki SV1000N = 38 MPG
    09 Kawasaki KLX250S = 74 MPG

    Howdy,

    My '06 Daelim S2-125 (carbureted): 77 mpg
    2010 Honda Sh150i: (Fuel-injected):70 mpg

Sometimes I think a 125 is the more sensible urban commuter/ errand runner! YMMV.
