Bump.... and a little info . Hope not to offend, but
My Super Sherpa is for sale and I just listed it on the "Hudson Valley" Craigs List. Need the bucks to set up my SV650 track bike for the NY Safety Track near me.
Take a look and tell your friends.
That's a nice little bike, and in the right hands, it'll keep up with a couple of 650cc's all day!
And it's easier to drag out of a mudhole than a 650!
Cancel that. SOLD IT!
cool. which event do you plan to ride?
I'm coaching with NYST on my Ducati 748.
I think you'll have fun on the little 650... as the back section is very technical with a lot of tricky combinations of blind apexes, decreasing radius and elevation changes, etc. :eek1
Another coach has an SV and he cooks on that thing.
Who cares about getting passed on the straights when you catch them all in the turns!
Planning to preride Wednesday if anyone would like to come along.
I live near Catskill, and would be free Wednesday to join. What type of ride will it be? Distance/terrain.
I'll be leaving from the campground linked in the second post of this thread by 10-10:30. It will be about 200 miles, ~50% dirt roads/ seasonal use only roads, ~50% paved backroads.
Ill be there! Look for a black Super Tenere. I'm assuming its big bike friendly, if not I can take the WR
Thanks for letting me tag along!
Depending on your tires/ skill set, you may find a few short sections a little challenging, or just plain fun. Given your list in the stable, I would probably choose the Tenere, with dual sport tires. ...As long as you have some kind of skid plate.
Well, I just finished spooning on some fresh Anakee 3s about 15 minutes ago. Are they okay or so I need something more aggressive...?
I'm still new to offroading with big bikes, but I've done some moderate double track with the Tenere and did okay. The bike is definitely more capable than I am... She has a skid plate
Damn it! I just realized this is the weekend of my clubs enduro and I will once again be unable to attend I will be in the woods being eaten by mosquitos and cutting trails and helping in checks or riding sweep.
Maybe I will have to call in and pre-ride with you instead.
In all likelyhood, you will be fine, but if this is the tread pattern you are referring to...
..You may want to consider bringing the WR.
I only say that because you say that you have not done a lot of offroading with the big bike, and I preride the routes because I am not exactly sure what I will find from year to year on seasonal use only roads.. Most times they are fine and passable with little issue, occasionally they are significantly washed out, and have not yet received maintanence/ grading.
