Hooking up two wires to a fuse block and you can wire up all the silly electrical do-dads you want to.

Braking? I think you mean "breaking".

I consider your postings to be dross.

You welcome, and thank you for beïng so polite! :clap
Be welcome to reply in Dutch as bad as my English is next time, deal? :rofl

Hooking up wires on CANBUS can give you mallfunctions from the processor of the CANBUS system; OK, you could 'detour' the CANBUS system but that is no guaranty for not ending up with an killed electric system.

And to give you some more droppings...

50.000 km on a Beemer ST800, and the engine was totaly warn out. Source: www.motoplus.nl (by www.motorrad.de)

@ Crocapo: enjoy the bike! Joining in at the 10. Varadero International Meeting on May 9th this year? It will be held near Lake Balaton in Hungary: www.vim10.com

We own a 2004 MK2 ABS Varadero with 50.000 on the counter and a 2000 MK1 with 120.000 km. Both are still as new.

@ WPBarlow: I do like the Aprillia, the 'biggest' plus are the spoked tubeless tyres. I wish they where available for the Varadero, and I wish I could fit on the Capo with my 6,8 ft but I can't...

@ DBbrent... Tnx for sharing the link. I do like Trey, he is a very pleasant guy to chat with. I've met him for real at last years VIM meeting in Northern Ireland and hopeful he will be able to visit this years event again.

How does wiring a fuse block directly from the battery risk killing the CANBUS electrical system? It is completely independent. You obviously do not know anything about the system, yet choose to state negative information to support your biased position.

Hey buddy, Please let me know how that thing does in the sand and more gnarly terains. I love the more offroad approach. I nearly bought a 99 and did a similar conversion, Just the crappy fuel consumption made me change my mind.

Check out the bottom of http://www.tr5tadventurer.net/wst_page5.html and the bottom http://www.tr5tadventurer.net/wst_page10.html for more info on the ISDT and the trophy trail.

A few years back I had a nicechat with Tom McDermott (McDermott's H-D in Lake George NY). He was a Triumph dealer at the time and was at the ISDT in Western Mass in 1973. Great Guy, great stories.

Interestingly enough for this forum, I bleieve the TR5T was the first bike to use the name "Adventurer" (the name Triumph used for the Trophy Trail in the UK).

i know you guys had them for a long time but this is the first year that honda is bringing them to canada ( the usa is not getting them this year). honda only officially anounced the price today, although most of us new it would be 14g's. you have to remember that there is ZERO aftermarket parts here for them so any FARKLES will have to come from europe and that will be pricey.

Accessories for the Varadero are actually reasonably priced. I placed a deposit for a Varadero several months ago for one of the first to arrive in Canada, and have been looking on the net for a few months for accessories. It's been somewhat difficult to find particular items at times, but I've found that US importers for manufacturers such as Motech and Hepco & Becker have access to the Varadero stuff and are willing to import it. It's actually comparable in price to equipment that I have ordered for other bikes. I'm waiting until the bike arrives however, as I can see firsthand the variant before I place an order.

This is serious stuff! Which kind of tyres have you been fiting? TKC's? We have been cruising around in SA last month (on a Buell Ulysses rental and only in the north east - Limpopo, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Kwazulu-Natal, Freestate and Northwest Province - and this country realy is amazing bikers territory!

I like what you've done. I've seen a similar bike in PE (older model) also with the offroad tyres and crash bars. Post some more pics of your bike, it's awsome.:thumb

The Varadero is a great looking bike. Plus, I am Honda fan. :clap

I plan to get a Strom later this year, the best deal for the type riding I want to do. But, a Varedero...

Unfortunately the United States will not be receiving the Varadero as of yet Gary. Honda has only released the bike to Canada which will be sold in very limited numbers through select dealers, supposedly arriving the 15th of April.
