    If you re-jetted your 610, please share what you have along with your muffler and your riding elevation as they make a difference.

    TE-610 with stock exhaust.
    Bought JD jetting kit.
    Changed Pilot to 42
    Main is 172 (which is the stock size) - Kit says use 180 ?
    Changed Needle to red with clip in 4th slot.


    Ended up with 180 main. Red needle from JD Jetting kit 4th slot.
    Pilot to 42.

    This is pretty common. My elev. is 1000 ft.
    I may try Jim's advice next, but it seems lean to me.
    I'm at a 42 pilot, 170 main and a red JD needle from a KTM kit in I think the 4th from top clip slot, 1.5 out on the fuel screw and just under 1 sec. of AP squirt if that helps. (Thanks Jim !)

    I don't know about the 170 main - sounds pretty lean to me.

    I am at 180 main.

    I've been riding my new TE610 between 6-8000 feet. All stock. I haven't noticed any stutter or flat spots. I just get a fair amount of popping on decelleration. Not sure what's normal with even a well tuned thumper like this. If my plug color looks good is there any real reason to chase down different jetting etc?

    I think there has been a crap load of info about Jetting. Based on my reading and my personal jetting (I have a Sm610), I came up with the following.

    180 Main
    45 Pilot
    Fuel Screw 3 turns out (minimizes decel popping and idles good)
    JD Red needle at #6 position for the clip
    Leo Slip on
    Iridium Plug

    Runs like a champ. Pulls hard and clean from Idle to redline.
    I am in the sea level to 3K regime with 70-90 degree temps 60% humidity.

    I posted a bunch of jetting info on speedzilla (dukepilot) and SMJunkie (huskysm610) for the SM610. Here are my current settings with LV full exhaust, some additional holes in my airbox cover and backfire screen removed:

    185 Main
    JD Red Needle at 5th position
    45 pilot
    Fuel screw about 1.5 turns out
    Boyesen pump plate
    Power Now Plus

    This is at sea level.

    IMO the 06 610's jetting is less of an issue than the standard muffler which is very bad for upper mid and top end power ie it kills it. I have a Barrett pipe on mine which transformed my bike from bad to excellent power-wise, but I imagine any decent muffler would deliver good results
    I also changed things re jetting as I have drilled 5 X 30mm holes in the airfilter cover. I went to a #174 main from #172, stock needle on the 3rd groove from the top, and a #42 pilot down from a #50. As it is I think the bike runs a little lean on the transition from pilot to needle (bearing in mind the pilot is always affecting jetting to some degree right through the throttle range). I have noticed a massive improvement in both acceleration and steady throttle fuel economy, the hunting and lurching in low-load high-speed situations (such as downhill on freeways) has disppeared to the point where it is rare and no drama. Altitude is not really much of an issue with us South Australians as we call a 2000ft hill a mountain.

    Gutted pipe
    185 main
    45 slow
    adjustable leak jet at 1 3/4 turns out
    mix screw at about 2 turns out
    OBDMM needle @ 5th clip

    Getting it close to ideal. Still have a few more tweeks to do.

    Did a couple hours worth tinkering on the settings last night and came to the realization I was way too rich on the low end... Handy having a wideband O2 sensor shoved up the tailpipe:D

    I'm going to drop to a 42 pilot next and I also have a LeoVinci slip on coming that'll change it a slight bit... Currently running the hacked and gutted stocker.

    180 main
    45 slow
    adjustable leak jet at 1 3/4 turns out
    screw at 1.25
    OBDMM needle at 3rd clip

    Getting a good 12-13 AFRs on the top end revving under no load...just trying to get her close for now. Still rich low down but not by too much. Lowering the needle smoothed out the transition and it really feels much better.

    I have just had my '06 TE610 dyno tuned and re-jetted to suit a Barrett slip-on exhaust. The maximum hosepower was only 48.5 which is seemingly short of the 53 stock HP stated by the manufacturer.

    I would be interested to see dyno results posted by others.

    I would really appreciate you guys with a 610 to post your results here...I have ordered the LV slip on and need get a base to start from. I am at 500' but will be doing the TAT this summer and wonder what the jetting will need to be to allow for 12,000' of altitude? I am guessing I will need to set it for 5000' since that will be the average lower elevation for the western section of the TAT? TIA for any advice or specs you may have...

    I actually went with a smaller main than a lot of posts I've read on TT and on other sites. I had the JD kit, and although a lot of people use the red needle, I was better off with the blue. Also unplugged the TPS and used a Quickshot.

    It's primarily about the SM, but as far as engine performance goes, same info.

    Just pulled my plug and will replace it with an iridium and thought I would throw it out to the group for comments as I do not have any experience reading spark plugs. I have been having continuing stuttering problems with the 610 even after installing the JD kit (LV exhaust installed) . Current symptoms are pronounced stuttering on acceleration in 1st through 3rd especially at higher RPMs in those gears and difficulty with stuttering at a constant throttle in the 4800 - 5200 rpm range. I can hard accelerate through a lot of the stuttering (sometimes) and roll-on in the higher gears from let's say 50mph to 75mph is smooth and powerful.

    Looks rich to me. I'd start leaning it out until it runs better, then check the plug again.

    You might Try lowering your needle, I went to the 4th (lowered the needle) and it solved all of my problems, runs smooth all the way through
    Love it, I ride from 4k to over 10,000ft.

    Unplug your TPS, its got a crappy EPA curve with it, iridium plug and unplugging TPS should set it to base "safe" ignition curve and cure all or most of the stutter. Good luck.

    Thanks for all the input. I took everything apart today and found the red needle in the 6th clip from the top and switched it to the 5th; leaned up the fuel screw and disconnected the TPS. As soon as that iridium plug shows up, I plan on seeing BIG improvements. :)

    Skimmed through the threads and did not find exactly which fuel grade this bike runs best at. I have been using regular in the TE610 since new (89) and so has my brother with his XRR. Would this have any possibility of influencing the stumble? Should I be using midgrade or premium for any reason?
