I don't HATE them, but think stainless guns are ugly. I do however hate how a stainless 1911 galls.....

Now if I could get a revolver or 1911 that LOOKED like it had a high luster blue finish.....

I'll agree with you there, in part. Some guns just don't look right in stainless. I personally don't care for the look of a stainless rifle, for instance. It's a bit like chrome: a little is good, but too much just looks gaudy and tasteless.

Exactly. Now if someone came up with a process where a guy could get a Stainless revolver or 1911 that LOOKED like a high luster blue job, and stayed on as well as Black IP on many new watches, that would be bitchin! Here's what black IP loks like.

Isn't there some stuff on the market called 'black chrome'? Maybe that's the way to combine the durability of stainless steel with the look of traditional blueing. :dunno

Meh. It's less gaudy because it has a brushed rather than polished finish, but it would still look better blued (IMO).

That is the only stainless gun I LIKE the looks of. Well if it is a Remmy 870 Marine.

Too bad they cost three times what a blued 870 does.

The Remington Magnum Marine 870 isn't stainless, it's some sort of nickel plate. Nice guns, don't look too bad. What do they cost these days? I have one that I've owned for about 20 years, it's my loaner, it's always out on loan to someone.

Selling from around 650 or so now when the regular 870 is in the mid to high 200s.

Whoa! I have no recollection of what I paid for mine, but I recall thinking at the time that it was fairly inexpensive. Maybe I need to retrieve my Marine and stick it in the safe, and buy a basic 870 to loan out!

or charge accordingly if someone looses it or it gets stolen. I borroewed a Single six for s range day and that night, some idiots broke into my apartment in Cali and stole it and some other stuff. The guy I borrowed it from only charged me what he paid, which was like 120, the gun had to be worth 300 at least.
