So we have the go to the TT thread.....

Say ya want to Dakar ?

As a spectator. Rent a car ? Public transportation ? Stay in one spot and let the race come to you ? Travel to the "best" spots or bivouacs ? A week or two ?

I know it's a pretty broad based question but......I'd like to know.

When I go on trips folks tell me what the "must sees" are.

When I go to the races they tell me where to sit or go so I can see "everything".

I'd like some information.....because...well..I may give this a go.

I've traveled out of the US so I understand a lot of the travel logistics.
It's the traveling circus (rally) thing that I would like to get a handle on.

    Thanks

I recommend getting a hold of Dave at Rally Management Services, buying the tourist seat in the support truck and seeing the rally from the inside of the fence. Awesome experience and a great way to see the race from the inside :nod

I did look at that......then I looked in the checkbook....ummmm nope.
AND ...I may not be going alone... :D

I did the TT IOM. Kind of liked the way you can go to different locations and view the races.
Sandblast is the same basic idea...

Do you just get a flight to the start, rent a car, take a bus and go to a weeks worth of locations while camping....or a room here and there ?

Freedom Rally Racing offers a spectator package, but isn't for the poor man. Dakar charges a pretty penny for the little wrist band providing daily access into the bivouac. :eek1
