?

How much would you estimate that you spent each day (average) while riding the KAT?

Same here but I'm looking for a better alternative for getting the word out about the KAT.

Do you know if the GPX file can be loaded up there for downloading?

I'm thinking about having some stickers made up, what do you all think of this design?

Yes it can be. The Smokey Mountains 500 route is posted there, easy to keep the files up to date. They're in a 'group' format: https://www.facebook.com/groups/698628080200070/

Yep, you could use FB as Andy does with the SM500 & SM1000 and post the GPX file in a pinned post or you could even use a shared file on say Dropbox and always replace the latest one with your most recent. Either way would work.

Jeff, I can help with they FB page if you want me to and help you get it running. I run a FB page for my weekly bike night I organize, so I'm pretty familiar with it, plus I WFH so I'm always at my computer during the week. It's actually pretty simple setup, but you'll want to stay active on it or have people that stay active on FB there to answer questions or push them your way if they can't answer them. Plus when people share their ride or stories on FB, they can link the page back to their story and that will spread the word more or they can share their stories right on the page.

You'll have to decide if you want an open group, closed group or secret group. I would suggest closed group as this is the most popular and it means you have to approve people to join, but people can find the group when they search. A secret group is only visible to those that are members. An open group is kind of a free for all and usually those go down hill quick.

ADV is a great forum, but FB groups and stuff is really where a lot of the activity is these days.

Smokey Mountain 500 page as linked above - https://www.facebook.com/groups/698628080200070/
    Smokey Mountain 1000 page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/229150894116972/
Trans America Trail has a page, but of course they don't share the GPX file - https://www.facebook.com/groups/45838518814/

I'd definitely put one on my panniers, although I should probably actually "ride" the KAT first (don't want to be a poser) LOL
