I'll be rolling through Destin in couple of weeks in my old's cool rig, if you are close by, I'd like to stop by and say "high!"

I have some nylon material that I bought cheap at fabric store that was going out of business. I'm not sure if it would be good or not. Just playing around to see how much I have:

The screwdrivers are sitting there because I bought some stainless fasteners to hold the treated deck down, but I only bought half of the amount I needed. DOH! So this is what it's like to get older... ;)

Do the hose test to see if it's coated and waterproof. You can treat it yourself if it's not, but it would be nice if it is...

Well there are cheap tents and there are good tents. I don't know if that one is a good tent but I've paid a bunch more for tents that were worth the money to me anyway.

my little trailer doing it's best impression of a new age covered wagon:

I added some grommets to the nylon material and used those bungie ball things to attach it to the rails of the trailer. Now to cover the front of the trailer...

You will need a 'peak' in that canvas, otherwise it will puddle water.

Don't like the you can't really drive around with it, and its non urban/zombie apocalypse proofiness.

My problem with those is extensive set up/tear down every time you want to move the vehicle. My large backpacking tent is much easier to do for each.

Looks like a little slice of hell after a full day driving (or whatever) setting up in the dark, when you just want to rack out.

Yeah, I think half way through the first set up, you'd think to yourself, "WTF didn't I just buy a camper top!?!"

For car camping I use a 4-man backpacking tent-- can stand in it stooped over. Quick easy set up and tear down.

I do want to get a non-ground sleeping set up. That's why I started this thread way back when.
