That bag could be delayed for days especially if it is coming from the US. Sometimes they sit in customs for up to a week before being processed

Unless you know it is in the city for sure then I'd leave without it.
We've had a lot of problems with shipments thru UPS.
    Very poorly run company IMHO.
As has been said, just stop at a bike shop in the US on your way east and pick up a tank bag.
Hope you guys get to leave soon.

My tank bag FINALLY arrived at 7pm. We suited up and rode 45 mins south. Not very far, but we had to leave. The cabin fever was driving us both nuts.

Here is our official departing pic!

And this is what we were waiting for

It's a really nice bag. I love it.
    Anyway, more to come.

    Ciao

    Update:

We're in Chicago at the moment, sitting in a frozen yogurt place. A fellow ADVer let us park our bikes and leave our stuff at his place while we hit the town. (Thanks Mike!)

Today we're gonna shop around and do the tourist stuff. Tonight we go back by train to Mike's place, grab the bikes and ride down Lake Shore Dr which is supposed to be nice.

    Pics to follow.

Thank you Mike for everything. We had a good time in Chicago despite what everyone said. Nice city actually. Winnipeg should take some notes. Detroit on the other hand is the worst possible city i've ever seen. Thankfully mel had her gopro on so you all get a look. Im sure mels post will be much more detailed so ill let her tell you all about it. Long story short, the weather needs to warm up. Thats all

thanks Mike - yeah the timing was a bit off on our arrival. But, if you're ever headed up north, you know who to call for a place to stay!

And for what you've all been waiting for...

Our first full day was from St.Malo, CA to Minneapolis. The day started out right but boy were we caught by surprise. It started drizzling/raining and the temperature dropped dramatically. Then I was completely unprepared for the interstate highway traffic. Was quite the learning curve! We then rode through and past the city to a hole-in-the-wall campground, set up camp in the rain. Here is where we stayed.

From there was a long stretch to Mike's place in Chicago. Got there late. That's his Harley Davidson XR 1200 on the left there.

Then he left us a gift for our long day on the town..

A nice bike we saw in the 'hip' part of town

Some weird bean thing that is supposed to be a big deal in Millennium Park
    [IMG]

A nice stage area, again in Millennium Park
    [IMG]

Water Tower Place (one of the only buildings to survive the Chicago fire)

Good old fashioned ADV food pic. This place, Redamak's in Michigan was supposed to have the best burgers around.

After that we headed to Detroit to cross the border. I have a GoPro video but they take very long to upload.

After hopping the border we rode past Windsor to a grossly overpriced campground to sleep then made it here, to Kitchener the next day. Not sure where we're headed to next but I'll keep you posted :thumb
