Ummm, err, I checked the tyre pressures, should be right?
So um are we ready im not just got carby from states wonder how that will go , got to do wheel bearings , chain sprockets service etc tyres plenty of time i spose
Rezanaco fitted, bearings done, RHRG tank will be here in the next few days, D908RR bedded in ( no longer like riding an eel) spare levers and cables, LED spots fitted, leave pass approved, room booked, yeh, I'm terrified!
Just fitted a Rigid industries 6" LED light bar to the green machine, 9 LED's at 10 watt each. F*#ck me, unbeleivable.
I think I may need it. , recon the roos will self ignite as I blast past.
were'd ya get it fogo? does it do distance well or is it a floodlight type thing?
Both. the best I have eva seen. Search Rigid industries on Google, 6" lightbar 3100 lumens. $315.
Not mine, it was given to my by a friend to take on the ride. I mounted just under the stock headlight of the KLX. rubber mounted to the gaurd, the KLX has a pretty stiff gaurd.. I might keep going past the corner and try and find Crutchy and Boris down the Strez now I can see whats in front of me.
been thinkin about a light bar. been a few skippy's on the way home from work lately. normally see them but theres been a few dead ones too. more than i'm comfy with.
I hope to see you all out there. I am leaving from Blaxland NSW on a KTM450. Room has been booked, bike nearly all prepped and ready for launch. It is the first time that I am attempting this ride and I am really looking forward to it.
I am not going the traditional way from here and hope to take in more dirt. It will be around 1300km for me. I hope to meet you guys there.
The Left One
Longest day of the year challange.......light bars...your kidin me, spend the $$$$ on beer at the end
And if you finish where there is no pub and you have to ride to the nearest town in the dark?
Fogo is smart.
Well don't go to strong on the lights you blokes, the bitumen has melted quite nicely of late.
So how do you keep an eye on how these mad dudes are going for the day? And how many are involved?
Do we get an "honour" list posted? Is there a mag that takes pics and posts a story on it?
I think it's more about spending a motza on preparation and failing dismally s the main point, there's no story if you actually succeed .
Can ya feel it?!?!
Thats right, I didn't make it last year, but it was a hell of a lot of fun, funny day, lots of laughs, Have a read of lasts years thread. 2011. On the day this thread will be running hot and those who put their SPOT page up, you will be able to follow.
For me the bike prep and different mods tinkering in the shed months before is half the fun. The serious guys that will be leading the charge are bike fit, crack pot riders. If your not a good rider it would be foolish to try and keep up with these guys without hurting yourself. Better to go your own pace and set your own record not someone elses.
But it doesn't mean that a nobody like me cant go on this ride and get all hyped up in the emotion of the day and go and have a bloody good old fang.
See you on the road, I'll be thr guy next to the smouldering Ktm remnants sporting a look of smug satisfaction!
