We're counting down the last week before we leave from TN headed north on our KLR's. We're riding East to West. Still having trouble loading the gpx files on our Montana. Is there a specific thread someone could suggest where I could get some assistance? Obviously noob.

We're just two old folks on our KLRs, but we have all summer. We'd love to meet or correspond with any of you who live near the trail.

If any of you guys riding KLRs on the TCAT, coming thru Manitoba need assistance, I may be able to help (if I'm healthy, and not away riding myself) I'm in Winnipeg on the west side near the perimeter, only a short ride from Headingly Sports, our big Kawi dealer. I'm a bit of a KLR parts hoarder, build 'em up for a hobby.

Depending on the day I'm 10 min from Murph's in town or 2 hours 'round the bay at my house. Or of course I'm far away working. If you need more in depth stuff/parts etc the local BMW dealer offers the best service in the province and Keith takes good care of travellers. the store is The Toy Box.

RTWPaul & El are also doing the TCAT east to west this summer.

We're looking to catch the ferry to Port Aux Basque on the first of June. We'll take the roads to St. John's and then head west from there.

Appreciate the info! We should have everything we need with us except knobbys. We'll have them shipped to Murph's. I don't know RTWPaul, but perhaps we'll run into them. I imagine a lot of people leaving later than us will catch up to us before it's over with. We don't intend to blaze.

Look RTWPaul up here, 3rd trip RTW, he knows a lot! Remind yourself that anything can happen between then and now as you see it.

The passes on the North Island sections are finally open after a long winter... The section that crosses the Puntledge river near Cumberland now has a Toll booth, you can avoid it by doing a short section of hwy 19 from the Cumberland exit to the Mount Washington parkway exit..

Gunnerbuck, I used to live there (10 years!) in Courtenay. Where's the toll booth? Are you talking the intersection by the Rod & Gun Club at Comox Lake logging road? I used to spend a lot of time hiking & mountain biking back there.

It is right by the Puntledge river bridge... A developer is in a dispute with the regional district and is using a toll booth as leverage..

We are the 2 old folks who just left Holyrood on the trail. Murph says we need to report on conditions as we find them. We had some problems at two washouts within 50' of each other around 35 km south of Clarenville. The gps coordinates are: N 47. 39. 370, W 53. 52. 533. Heavy gravel around the edge where you can ride makes it fairly tough. I almost tossed her KLR off a 10' bank. 35471616_Unknown.JPG 35471552_Unknown.JPG
