Has anyone recently ridden the Ontario portion of the trail? Here in Michigan we have been getting TONS of rain such spots that normally are dry, are now standing water. Im wondering how the TCAT in Ontario has fared?

I've done about half of it this year. Not too bad, a few areas where water levels were a bit higher than normal. Most of the route takes gravel bottomed trails and roads so they drain quickly after heavy rains.

How many beaver dams have you found Ted?:lol3

I guess I'm going to have to run the T'Rail one of these days to verify the condition, that or take RTWPaul's when he rides it in a couple of weeks.

Did a portion of the NW Ontario TCAT, day before yesterday... did Kenora to Ear Falls. The Conifer Rd section was challenging with loaded bikes. We met a fellow that works for Hydro at Ear Falls, asked him if he was familiar with conditions of the road around the north of Lac Seul. He said it was in worse shape than Conifer Rd (he was familiar with both), didn't recommend it, said Hydro guys go around the south side. How many folks have actually gone around the lake that way (north shore)?

It was bloody excellent !! I loved the plains , the odd mile or two of really deep gravel will freak you out or make you a better rider ! Some sand here and there . Views were grand and of course Canadians are so bloody friendly .
We did head south at Calgary with the smoke being so bad and will save the rest for next year . Just as well really as my GS decided to divorce it's rotor ! I made it 400 miles on one battery charge to get home .
Gotta thank the guys for putting this part of the trip together it was fun .

Crazy early. Very strange weather year. Unprecedented rainfall in Ontario/Quebec, fires in BC/AB all summer, etc. Tough year for the tcat travellers.

You Aint kidding... I managed only about 400km in Sask. on my way back to Ontario in early June this year.... Rained on me from the border of Sask and Manitoba, all the way to Kenora and about 10 C at its warmest... Weatherman said there was snow in the forcast north of Superior so I threw the towel right out the overpriced hotel room window in Kenora and headed south into the US.... didnt fair much better.... ended up getting a ticket 90km south of kenora while trying to GTFO as fast as possible in hopes of warmer, dryer weather and then rode through two Tornados in Wisconsin.

Oh FYI -KTM Rally jacket is POS in that kind of weather.... I was soaked straight through for four days. I bought a Klim Badlands at Gpbikes on my way through Oshawa LOL

    But yeah... weird weather.
