So with 23 degrees morning temps I have lapsed into planning mode and fired up google earth again. Anyway, I've had trouble figuring tribal boundaries in my trip plans so if you use GE this will help you do some planning. These are not closed lands. If you want to travel there just ask. Maybe camping fees or fishing licenses etc. Native Americans are much more civilized and compassionate than the giant mega corporations running mines, oil drilling, foresting, ranching, on public land.

Little ride this afternoon. Punkin patch...

Haven't ridden in two months. Hassles and business. But a couple hours on your favorite beast can simply dissolve your tension and return you to social equilibrium, almost as well as a sawed off shotgun loaded with double-ought.

Visited a polynya west of IF. That's an island of grass in the middle of a lava flow. Really pretty day too.

And a really nice sunset from the house.

A swell past of couple of days over here also...Except the power went off this A.M. I had to fire up the generator to watch the Seahawks.....What a swell game!....
Good thing I have firewood and kept nice and warm....It was either that and go out and burn more brush from the windstorm we had the other day, along with the snow...It has melted now...:clap..............

For Veteran's Day please watch this film. If it does not move you, then you have no soul.

The director of photography is Mike Eldredge, my nephew. Damn proud of that.

So every life deserves a few moments when you fist pump the ever living beejeezust out of the sky. This year had two real ones for me. The first one was on June 7 2017 at 10:30 in the morning. No fancy picture, kind of a mundane stop. But exactly 11 months before this, I could not walk. I could not crawl. And there I was riding my way into the Wallowa valley. On my own. Throttle pinned (well, you get to do that a lot on a Ural) and I stopped where you get your first view of the Valley and the mountains. The valley of ghosts, thundering across the high prairie. And I stopped and punched the ever loving shit out of the sky. And danced around (cars slowed a bit and stared but thought it best to drive on)

The other time was today. My regular one mile walk. The first quarter mile the effing cane was getting in my way. So just carried it to the halfway mark. Then I took that miserable POS chunk of Chinese shite and threw it as far as I could. Dogs barking. And I stomped over to it and picked it up and threw it as far as I could (farther). Repeat several times. Then I went back and picked up the pieces that broke off. Horses looked at me kind of strangely.

Next year is going to be good.
